Interviewer: Ok, Mr. Dx100. Are you a turkey? DX100: I walk like a duck. Interviewer: Are you a chicken? DX100: I quack like a duck. Interviewer: *Sigh* C'mon, are you really a duck?? DX100: *DoubleSigh* Yes, I'm a great duck! Why does everyone want me to be a Turducken?? (if you...- LBC

Anyone get a chance to try the DX100 with UE10's (or similar analytical IEM's)? I have the latter and wonder about the synergy with the former. Thanks for all the info guys - good thread...- LBC

Don't get me wrong: I think this device definitely moves dap tech forward, and I understand that developers always have to make choices. So I'm not indicating this as a reason not to buy one - just making an observation. Quote:- LBC

Slightly OT, but... Not knowing the innards of how iBasso got their music player to work under Android, but it's a shame that they had (or chose) to integrate it so tightly with a specific version of Android. I'm sure there are apps that someone might want to use on the DX100, but can't because...- LBC

iBasso DX100 Reference DAP - ES9018 inside
Yeah, I'm thinking of a $500 or so model, with the same UI (assuming it turns out well), IEM-centric (= better battery life?), and maybe a (very) slight compromise on SQ. Bet it would sell a bunch. Look back in this thread and recall the people who voiced disappointment in the price and battery...- LBC

iBasso DX100 Reference DAP - ES9018 inside
iBasso opened the door regarding a slightly lower-end model, so there's no reason for us not to put our foot in it. I think the key here is the all-in-one box solution - at least for me. I don't want to be sitting on airplanes with dap/amp/cable and all the hassle therein. So, let's keep...- LBC

iBasso DX100 Reference DAP - ES9018 inside
I'm in for a group buy. Been looking for a new DAP, but only if the whole package (SQ, UI, price, battery life) were good. Seems like a number of other recent models have only one or two of those items check-marked. We'll see how many check marks this one gets. A "DX50" (or some such) still...- LBC

Headphones + sweat?
I had a pair of Shure E3's that went out due to sweat getting in. I thought that I fried them, but once they dried out they were fine. Still have 'em. In the winter months I do a lot of my bike training indoors - which includes lots of sweating. I've been using my etys with triple flanges, and...- LBC

FiiO E5 amp (E3 upgraded)
Hey folks, I have a question: Is it easy/straightforward to remove the clip on the E5? Haven't looked at it closely yet - I just thought I'd see if someone's done this already. My impressions so far: Needed some burn in, not a lot, but some (10-15 hours). Maybe psychological, maybe not. For...- LBC

I love Ety ER4's, but is there something better? Asking other poeple who love(d) the ER4(P/S) only, please :)
I've had a pair of the 4P's for a number of years. I'm a detail guy, so I do like them for that. However, when I upgraded to UE-10's it was no contest: detail + plus everything else! When I switch back to the etys, they sound thin and shrill. That said, it's maybe not a fair comparison when you...- LBC

FiiO E5 amp (E3 upgraded)
I haven't heard much about burn-in. I'm assuming that from the design it doesn't need much (any?). Just wondering if anyone's noticed a change. Just got mine. Charged and ready to go! And yes, it really is that small!!- LBC

UE-10 or UE-11
I totally agree about the etys vs. the UE10s - no comparison - UEs are so much better. Damn you head-fi! Now I'm going to have to get the 11s- LBC

UE-10 or UE-11
Interesting thread! This is the first I've heard about people preferring the UE10s over the 11s. I love my 10s, but I've been itching to get the 11s. For my musical tastes, sounds like the 11s would be a better match.- LBC

First UE11 Impressions
HP out (with volume maxed), going into an amp works great with the X5. This was clearly the consensus when the X5 came out and was all the rage. I just wish Cowon would make a new version with flash memory - AND joystick! BTW: to the other poster who was concerned about fit, you can try the...- LBC

High end IEM's for workouts
Pay attention to the sweat factor. If you sweat a lot and moisture gets in - not so good - esp. if you've paid for some higher-end IEMs. I have a pair of e3's that went south after sweat got into one side. But miraculously, they dried out and came around.YMMV- LBC

Earphones for Around $70
If you keep reading this website, you will get terminal upgraditis! An incurable disease. So I always recommend getting the best that you can afford at the time. If you get something cheaper to save money, you'll probably regret it and then want to upgrade sooner rather than later. So overall...- LBC

Ideal IEM for office environment under $100?
How about iM716? Good value, tri-flanges or foamies for good isolation, and quite good sound. ($85 at Amazon - might find 'em cheaper elsewhere - but that gives you an idea.)- LBC

How to fix the D2 Bass Rolloff.
The best way to fix the bass roll-off is to drive it through an amp. My memory of using the EQ on my X5 was that it really increased the hiss. Trying a/b-ing the eq without music playing. Maybe the D2 is better than the X5 on this - don't know...- LBC
