Xonar Essence ST, PCI_ST_7_0_8_1821_Win7 Asus 2013 Beta Drivers
Yes, they sound really well. Spotted just now. really pleased. But its a bit too bright, and treble is painful sometimes. But maybe i need to get used to it. But its much "cleaner" and tighter sound.- Artcheezzz

Advice requested: looking to purchase headphones up £250 (around $370)
Ahh sorry - didn`t saw you wrote, that you will use them on the go as well. My suggestion was for home, because they are open back`s :) On the go i have SoundMagic PL11 (bassy) or Soundmagic E10 (classy). Cheap and good quality in ear on the go. I have iphone as well, so with that source i...- Artcheezzz

Advice requested: looking to purchase headphones up £250 (around $370)
If you have that bad source like laptop only (don`t even mention iphone to me:)) ) Just get some DAC with built in AMP (cheaper when get both). Or just for now try beyerdinamics dt770/880/990 PRO 32ohm (PRO is much cheaper) and they sound not too bad as well. It will be a good start with your...- Artcheezzz

RME Hammerfall DSP 9632 VS Asus Essence ST
Yes that`s odd, they all using mac or other laptops with worst sound card possible, but buying dac for £500 and amp for £300. Lol what i can say. many lol`s :) Maybe the sound cards paired with BAD cheap PSU (power supply unit) will make some ugly noise like 10 years ago. But i was comparing...- Artcheezzz

London Head-Fi Meet April 2013
for the bass lovers i would say MrSpeakers MadDog headphones where the best what i heard on the meeting day. A bit heavy and not "seksy looking", but still comfortable. Way more balanced sound and bass than d600 or d7100. the best bassy headphone i tried so far. Oh, hifiman he-500 surprised as...- Artcheezzz

Sadly not all of us can bring or have the portable player/laptop + dac/amp and have your own music. I know its not the best place for accurate testing. But i`m dying to try HD800, couple portable players £500+, BUT if i will have to listen some unfamiliar music to me, like Beethoven...- Artcheezzz

ASUS Xonar Essence ST vs. CEntrance DACPort
Well some one i`m sure could tell you, just yes, go for it! But when you pass 200£ component improvement level, simply is better to buy higher level headphones or speakers. Seriuosly, just buy and return, its easiest way. I`m sure u can find some local shops who can offer that to you, if not...- Artcheezzz

ASUS Xonar Essence ST vs. CEntrance DACPort
I think i will stop "believe" other people impressions on forums when it comes to comparison. Most of them don`t do A/B testing and they just guess: "ahhh.. it must be better". No i`m really grateful when some one sharing their experience. BUT: I had A/B testing with (HD650 and stereo)...- Artcheezzz
