    The Fiio A5 thread: an upgrade of E12A, MUSES02+LME49600, 800mW, 19Vp-p, 12 hours

Does the A5 have any disadvantages compared to the E12? I was going to get the E12, but now I guess I am better off with the A5?! I will be using it mainly with my Beyerdynamic DT990 pro for gaming, movies and music, on occasions with IEMs maybe.

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Since I am (still) in the market for an amp to drive my Beyerdynamic DT990 pro 250 ohms and Philips TX2 IEMs for me it comes down to either the Fiio E12 (my preference) or the Schiit Magni 2 (maybe Uber). The amp will be connected mainly to my AVR, maybe Astro Mixamp, to portable devices (iphone...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

So it would get processed twice if I connect it to an AVR? First by the AVR and a second time by the G5?

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

So the G5 will be an upgrade from the Astro Mixamp Pro, right? Can I also use the G5 as a straight forward amp with my AVR or is this not going to be possible? The more I read about it the E12 really seems to be a nice high quality option and I am sort of leaning torwards getting one over an...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

That is exactly why I am hesitant. I'd hate to buy such a device only to discover that while it might be great by itself it just can't handle all the stuff I want to throw at it. And that is why I figured it might be better to upgrade may AVR if that is at all possible. But if that is more or...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

I am using it for the 3 things: 1. TV (digital cable, PS4 Blu Ray, Apple TV) - 60 % 2. gaming (PS4) - 30 % 3. music - 10 %, since I mainly listen to music on the go, not at home.   And I should also mention that I already have an Astro Mixamp pro hooked up to my PS4, which I really like...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

I have looked into the E12 a little bit and it really seems to be a viable option based on user reviews. Now, the question I keep asking myself is if the E12 is in fact a good piece of equipment to upgrade my current setup. Would this be a good upgrade from the Fiio E6 that I use roght now with...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

So you´d recommend getting the E12 over the E17k?   Right now - and at this point I do not have any plans to buy new headphones - I will pretty much only use the amp with my Beyerdynamic DT990 pro headphones. Will be mainly connecting them to my Yamaha AVR (80% ?) and portable devices...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

I am intrigued by the Fiio products - the mobility would be an added bonus.  Any idea of how the E12 compares to the E17k? I am aware that the E12 is (only) an amp whreas the E17k is alos a USB DAC. But doesn´t the E17k also work as a stereo/analog only amp with having the added benefit of...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Can anybody recommend a decent stereo headphone amp (max $ 100, maybe mobile amp?) to power my Beyerdynamic DT990 pro. I feel like they need a little more power connecting them with my AVR and they do for sure if I connect them to my iPod. Since I already have an AVR with Silent Cinema and an...

Yamaha SR-301, this one: http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/digital-sound-projector/yht-s401_w/   Sometimes I also connect a (cheap) Fiio E6 portable amp between my headphones and the Yamaha AVR and there is a noticeable difference in volume. That´s why I figured that maybe the...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

So, for gaming (ps4), movies and televison I plug my Beyerdynamics DT 990pro 250 ohms straight into to headphone jack of my Yamaha AVR with silent cinema. The question I keep asking myself: Would my headphones/sound quality noticeably benefit from an additional external amp or is the Yamaha AVR...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Yes. And again, hard to get!   I think I will go with the Philips TX2BK. They get good to great reviews, are durable, good sound with punchy bass and even have a mic and nice design.   I am a little concerned about how they will fit into my smaller ears, and somebody even suggested they...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Thanks.    The way I do these things usually is to get the best product I can within my budget or a lilttle over it. This time however there seems to be no clear cut, no second toughts "best IEM under € 100". At least I have not come across one.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Thanks, I will look into them. They are a lil hard to get tough in Europe. Any other suggestions? I was also looking into IEMs that sound similar to the Sennheiser HD 598 since I really liked those for music. But all recommendations are out of my price range.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Thanks for this thread, great starting point!   I am currently looking for new IEMs and want to upgrade from my Sennheiser CX300ii. Looking for a good amount of punchy bass, present mids/vocals and no hissing/screeching highs (unlike Beyer DT990 pro). A little stage would be nice as well. I...

Plz help on IEMs for € 50 - 100, Sennheiser CX 300 ii upgrade

    As a starting point I was looking at the following models:   - SteelSeries pro; € 60 - Yamaha EPH-M100; € 90 - Hifiman RE-400; € 80 (might be too neutral sounding for me) - RHA MA750; € 90 - Beyerdynamic DTX102; € 70 - Sony MDR-EX650APT; € 60 - SoundMagic ES10S; € 50   Any thoughts on...

Plz help on IEMs for € 50 - 100, Sennheiser CX 300 ii upgrade

Hello,   since I've been using my Sennheisers for what feels like a decade, I finally want to upgrade to better sound/build quality.  I am willing to spend up to € 100, but staying more around 50 would be even better.   What's important to me: - good, durable build quality - good noice...

    Xbox one audio setup(noob)

Or that one :) why not dss2? it's the newer version. I never had a problem with hissing and went for the Astro Mixamp cause it has more input options and seemed to provide the better quality from what I can remember. But just do a lil research on both mixamps and go with the one that comes out...

    Xbox one audio setup(noob)

Why not get an Astro Mixamp? Does Dolby Headphone and works very well from what I can tell. I used to play COD MW and worked perfectly fine for me as I relied mainly on sound and speed. Stereo works as well, but Surround sound just adds another dimension. Takes a little time getin used to maybe...
