I've got the XL pads now -   Good - Comfortable - it's actually around the ear now              - Soundstage is much wider - kicks are right in centre now as opposed to all enveloping.   Bad - Bass is a bit flabbier, less well defined         -  Kicks are much less defined and crisp now...

So is there much of a synergy difference between the Fiio E07Ks and the E12s with the M-100s?

definitely looking forward to the XL pads! @Miceblue, I think at those points it's just the sheer number of instruments playing that does that it's very difficult to get dyanamic range. I might try some light bus-level compression just to get some 'pumping'.

Thanks! Yeah I find listening to it on speakers with no bass gives you a good sense of how lively it really is. Which levels do you think I should turn down? Or just in general it's too loud a track? Tizzly is probably right, I fumbled a lot with getting the right amount of presence on the...

I've been making music for this video game called Voidnex (www.voidnex.com) and I'm doing the music for the trailer, I've been making it pretty much entirely on my M-100s, with additional mixing through my laptop speakers. Let me know what you think!  ...

Quote:     I've always thought when mixing it's good to hear it on as many systems as your ears are used to and have variety between those systems, I have some KRKs, my M-100s and some laptop speakers and I get pretty decent sound and consistency      Head-fi meetup at a local pub?

Quote:   As an aside, would you ever consider using your Verza as your interface? I barely use mics when I'm on the road and I'd rather not have to carry two amps... why should I carry around my Duet if I have a perfectly decent and well-matched amp for my headphones of choice?

Quote:   It really is getting used to the 'feel' of the bass as opposed to 'hearing' it, I find it balances it out for me. As for spaciousness and detail, I've heard better,  but not in this price range and market (closed/semi-closed).

Attempted delivery usually means either there was a signature needed or that the item was too big for your letterbox, there is usually a red slip (if it's royal mail) that tells you that you were out and they tried to deliver and what you can do to get it. Worth giving your post office a call if...

Quote: When I first put them on I tried to fit my overly large ears inside the cups, actually folding and stuffing them in, it was a bit ridiculous now that I think about it.  Anyway, when I took them off and then put them back on my ears so that it was resting on the topmost part and my...

Quote:   I find it hard to exactly explain the frequencies of what mid-bass are because it's track dependent, the purpose of mid-bass in one song may be completely different for another. So in one song where the rhythm is handled by a bass guitar operating in the mid-bass region, you...

Times have moved on somewhat :p, dance music is either highly progressive or extremely fickle depending on your point of view.   Someone dropped this in a club this other day:   C2C – Down The Road   Much confusion on my face.

Quote:   I'll have to disagree with you there Miceblue, the 'Club sound' is - for me at least - the result of massive speakers' sub-bass throbbing your chest and the synergy of kick and snare drums forcing you to shake yo groove thang. The throbbing is <100 Hz; the kick drum is 100-150Hz...
