That was something I was really concerned about as lack of gapless flac drives me mad, no problems so far with the Onkyo. Also as a side note Id ordered the Onkyo case and then regretted it when I saw pictures of the Diginis case and wished Id been able to cancel as photos of the Onkyo case...

Buy some custom in ear defenders best money Ive spent I can actually hear the music properly and what the bands are saying and I don't spend the next day with ringing in my ears, kicking myself I didn't do it years ago!

Any news on the release of the official case as I have one on backorder, tempted to cancel and order one of these Digis ones if they're available sooner

Apparently the latest Onkyo firmware release now has a volume warning that pops up once as levels are exceeded, hopefully this is a sign that theyre getting ready for the EU role out and rather than implementing a volume limit they have provided a warning instead, if this is the case hopefully...

Maybe this volume message is related to the problems with the Pioneer units released earlier in Europe because they were volume limited, they may have removed the limiter but provide the warning to comply with EU regs possibly ready for the EU role out?

There doesn't appear to be a noticeable gap on the sockets on mine, I was trying to find the photos of the problem units but the thread is so big now its hard to find anything. Just wondered if the problem units were on the pre yellow X1 logos?

Really pleased with it, originally I had AKG K451s which I knew I needed to upgrade so was a bit underwhelmed when the Onkyo first arrived but through the KEFs wow! So I'm really interested to know what a balanced pair would add to the mix! But again that's the beauty of this device its superb...

Don't forget how long the Sony has been out, after all we're early adopters. Folder browsing already works on the Pioneer so there's no reason that Onkyo cant address most of these issues going forward, given the will to do so and it appears they're wanting to take a dominant position in the...

Would a small piece of blu-tak work to cover the socket while the acrylic/sugru is applied? Still haven't received my unit yet its been stuck in UK customs all week. For anybody based in the UK and of a certain age this is rapidly turning into a Blue Peter type project! ps good call on the Sugru...

Starting to wish Id gone for a UK XDP-100R as its starting to look like there may be quality issues with the Onkyo on the headphone connection...PITA to have to send it back to Japan to get it fixed if needed!

Also I haven't looked at the connections but does it provide a ground or is it just mechanical and electrically isolated?

How do they compare, originally I was going to buy the KEF M500s when I was getting the Pioneer XDP-100R however now Ive bought the Onkyo I really feel I should be looking at the PM3s?. I also have KEFS R900 mains and LS50s in another room...just need the lottery win so I can get some Blades!
