Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
Most of what you said is subjective, so I'm not going to comment, but... Quote: On a test tone, I could hear from the very beginning at 10Hz. I listen to music that centers on sub bass and you listen to anime music. The sub bass on these have never been lacking. Can't really see how you...- tseliottt

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
Week or so later, still no thoughts of returning these. Anyone who says these sound cluttered or muddy or anything like that, it probably has to do with the music your listening to and the recording process. For electronically produced music, these are extremely layered, detailed, and that...- tseliottt

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
Youre not being the "bad boy". You're saying how much you hate an SUV when you're clearly in the market for a mini scooter. There are different types of headphones and this clearly isn't your type.- tseliottt

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
Haha, just stoked since I've regretted selling my Denons for years now, but could never deal with their treble anyways. What have people been saying about the midrange though? I stopped following the thread to decide for myself how they sound, but the mids are definitely darker than I'd...- tseliottt

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
This is how I feel about the HD650s, but people seem to love them because of this quality. One man's monolithic and shallow, is another man's smooth and sweet. To me the Z7 is somewhere between. The bass definitely makes itself present for an overall darker sound, but the Z7 has a crisper upper...- tseliottt

Quick Impression: Sony MDR-7550
Just bought my second pair. Sold my first just to explore other options, even though I loved them. They're as great as I remember them to be. Bass isn't as huge as I remember, but that's actually a good thing since it's very accurate and less exaggerated than I expected. They have some of the...- tseliottt

Sony 7520 vs cd900st?
Those look very interesting as well. I wish head-fi would stop doing the same Senn, AKG, HiFiman, FOTM routine over and over and look at some of the more obscure and underrated options on the market. In my experience, those have actually been better than the established favorites. The IEM...- tseliottt

Sony 7520 vs cd900st?
I prize resolution, and love studio accurate headphones ala the etymotic er4. I've also noticed that Sony makes some of the most underrated headphones on the market. I was looking at these two models for my fullsized headphone, but there's hardly any info on them. Certainly not enough to get a...- tseliottt

Review: Sony MDR-7550
Hmm... As much as I have told myself the 7550s were the heir apparent to my ER4, the BA200s have piqued my interest. How would you compare them to the 7550s especially in terms of bass (especially sub-bass), detail, separation, and tonality? I've read review that have ranged from the bass...- tseliottt

Review: Sony MDR-7550
This exactly. Have to disagree with Gintaras. I've been looking for something to compliment my ER4 for years and years, and I finally found them in the 7550s. I'm a stickler for detail coming from etys, and the 7550s don't lose too much detail given how luscious the bass is. I...- tseliottt
