RARE STAX SRM-X Pro? Anyone, any impressions?
I do not have the carrycase, but bought the battery NOS a few years back, altough never used them. IMHO this is a very good amp to demonstrate the STAX sound if you have to bring your phones.- Nemeske88

Since then, I managed to get a NOS battery pack for 133$ with box. I think this is still a very decent mobile amp!- Nemeske88

Vintage Stax repair and maintenance
I’ve recently acquired a set of very old SR-Lambda (serial number is around 2000) in a very good condition, but the continuity of the cabling next to the strain reliefs are broken. The sound is flawless except that some static can be heard when I am moving my head. My question is that if it is...- Nemeske88

Dear Forum, I've acquired a set of SR-5 earspeakers. I am aware that there are different versions available (New, Gold etc.) and I am asking that how can one's determine which version is which? I had the opportunity to test the SRD6SB. I think it has a performance that is highly competitive compared to my SRM-XPro- Nemeske88

In my opinion, those are that ceramic capacitors those hold that charge until they discharge by leaking or something.- Nemeske88

This is a self-biasing transformer for earspeakers, the SRD6 SB. I am no tech, but I see only HV ceramic caps, and there are no batteries- Nemeske88

Thank you for the useful information. I checked the schematics on the internet and I've only seen some high voltage capacitors, no batteries. I presume these are the 'biasing voltage keepers' those must be kept 'charged' with the audio signal.- Nemeske88

I read once from a listing at eBay, that the self-biasing transformers are 'out-of-phase' less dynamic, and other poor qualities compared to those are runs from the mains. I will copy and paste my question there, thank you for your help.- Nemeske88

Dear Forum, I am now looking to buy a vintage set of Stax SR3 or SR5 Gold earspeakers. I would like to take the older model, the SR3 but I am afraid of that the membrane of the model is more likely perforated by overdriving or is inferior compared to it's newer model. Can you help me to...- Nemeske88

Vintage Stax repair and maintenance
Dear Forum, I have been owning an old SRM-Xp energiser for 3 years now. I assume that it's from the 90's so the electrolyt caps are probably dried out. I am asking you that if it's possible to change these caps at the PCB? Is it necessary or beneficial at all to exhange them to new...- Nemeske88
