How do I let down a beats person softly?
One of my friends has recently purchased beats studio headphones. I had a listen to them the other day and they seem really bad for the price. If he asked me I would have suggested ultrasone pro 900s but he didn't. I think I should teach him something so he doesn't make the same mistake again...- ebmp19

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
It is, because otherwise you would be double amping. I can't remember for sure, but i'm pretty sure that switch is for if you want to use the EQ (or the amp) on a dock.- ebmp19

If anyone was wondering - The e17 is fully supported on the windows 8 consumer preview. Probably slightly better than windows 7 even because it's faster at fetching drivers.- ebmp19

Quote: Yes, but I have beyerdynamic dt770 250 OHM and I can listen to it with 0db gain and about 30 - 40 volume or 6db with lower volume. They are definatly not IEMs. I'm not sure how loud you guys listen to your music! I think it might be better to listen on 0db gain with higher volume...- ebmp19

mp4nation.net 'free' gifts defective
I got my Fiio e17 from mp4nation.net and I got it with beta brainwavez. The brainwavez are broken in one ear and there is no replacements on gifts. If your going to buy from mp4nation.net I suggest not taking free gifts into account as they are probably the ones that get sent back. At lease I...- ebmp19

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Well I have had a quite funny experience with mp4nation support chat. I asked them whether the middle of February was the time it would arrive at my house approximately, or when it would arrive at their warehouse. They informed me that it would be delayed until march. I said that it was really...- ebmp19

Default format + volume settings
Just wondering in my audio settings what should I pick as my default format? I have beyerdynamic dt770 headphones listening through the 3.5mm jack on my computer. Example 24 bits, 192000 hz . Noob question of the day: What kind of effect would a bad DAC/Amp/Soundcard present
No, I don't hear noise when nothing is playing. I did a short time ago, but that was because the cable was ****ed and I sent them back to beyer to be repaired.- ebmp19

Noob question of the day: What kind of effect would a bad DAC/Amp/Soundcard present
By the way what's the best ratio for windows to winamp volumes. Does it make a difference? I thought of it as winamp is the source and windows is like an amplifier volume but maybe it makes no difference. I did 80% winamp and whatever volume I want to listen at windows. Am I being a noobie...- ebmp19

Noob question of the day: What kind of effect would a bad DAC/Amp/Soundcard present
Yes, I am pretty sure I can hear noise at loud volumes (other than the music of course). so what you mean is feed the male from the headphone to the microphone port and then do the thing where you invert the audio against the real song. If I hear noise then something is going wrong with the...- ebmp19

Noob question of the day: What kind of effect would a bad DAC/Amp/Soundcard present
Hi guys. On my desktop computer my soundcard is some kind of realtek card. I think it must have a pretty powerful amp in it as loud for me is winamp at 80% and windows at 40%. If I put it up full volume it would blow my headphones for sure... I have Beyerdynamic DT770 pro 250OHM. My question is...- ebmp19

How to (?) : Adjust clamp tension on Beyerdynamic DT770 pro headphones
The 770 pros have a different sound, unlike the 880s which are the same as the premium except the clamp tension. They aren't too bad for me, I just think they would be more comfortable if most of the weight was of the headband and not the earcups.- ebmp19

How to (?) : Adjust clamp tension on Beyerdynamic DT770 pro headphones
I have seen people saying that you can do this. Do you need to undo the star shaped screws connecting it to the headband and alter the angle or is it just not possible?- ebmp19

Need excellent headphones in the 50 -100 dollar price range.
I think it would help if you said what sort of sounds you want to listen to. I think that ear buds tend to be uncomfortable for long listening times and isolate less so maybe canal phones. On the other hand that might be a bad thing if you are walking or riding etc as you won't hear sounds like...- ebmp19
