The replacement headband you bought is like the ones found on the DT880 pro version, with button clasps. The Odac and O2 combo is certainly an upgrade over the E10.

For me, the HD 202, even though it was inexpensive at $20. They are just very uncomfortable and have poor sound quality, everything's just so muddy and bassy, and not even in a fun-sounding way.   There are way better choices at that pricepoint. 

As of the present, all brand new AKGs (even the K550) are manufactured in China except for the Q/K70x and the K3003, but that's an iem.
