post your grado mods....
I accidentally damaged my partner's Grado SR80i about a year ago (trying to mod them - I misshaped the plastic housing using a hair dryer), and ended up having to buy new headphones (a set of DT770s). So all this time the SR80i drivers were sitting unused, so I thought I'd make a special 21st...- Possede

Woody Grado Question
Hello. I am currently in the process of recabling a Grado SR80i and transplanting the drivers into a beautiful set of mahogany cups. However, I have had a sudden doubt... is it worth transplanting a set of SR80i drivers into mahogany cups? Would it be worth my while to find a set of a SR225 or...- Possede

DIY Lab Power Supply
Quote: Hello TheLaw, I have already made the design posted by Avro_Arrow on a strip board, and it works as expected - so I will stick with that. But thanks for your input! Out of interest, does anyone know of a more sophisticated power supply design? Say, +/-50V, 3A/5A output...- Possede

DIY Lab Power Supply
Quote: Hello Avro_Arrow, Thank you very much for your input and allowing me to use your layout design. I am trying to weigh up if designing a PCB and getting it made through the University is worth it, due to time scales. I'm thinking I might just buy either the LCBPS or...- Possede

DIY Lab Power Supply
Hello all, been a while since I've last posted. I am currently in the process of building a variable power supply that is capable of supplying a positive and negative DC voltage (to be used as part of my University project class). However, I have always wanted to build one anyway, as it can be...- Possede

It's only a few weeks until the new iPhone is released, you could've picked up a 3GS cheaper then. Ah well, I still love my 3G. Quote:- Possede

Best IEMs for < £200?
I'd recommend the Sennheiser IE8s. £160 here. Excellent built quality, no faults after more than a year of daily use! Unlike any Shure earphones I've had (E2C, E3C, E5C, SE530), which break after a few months of use.- Possede

Anything Else I should know?
The key to building projects is to take your time. Check and re-check you are putting the right component in the correct place. Then check again and solder. Remember polarities. There is not much that can go wrong when using that kit. Have fun! EDIT: These videos helped me get more...- Possede

Roll Call: Who's building, built, or thinking of building a beta22?
Thanks for the kind comments. nattonrice, I have biased the quiescent current at ~100mA to try and bring the temperature down. The case does get warm, hopefully it doesn't overheat. I was wondering, does increasing/decreasing the quiescent current affect the sound quality?- Possede
