1/8" stereo jack (thick panel?)
I searched and found a thread I started almost 6 years ago on this same topic. I'm looking for a beefy 1/8" stereo jack to use in my car. I ended up buying a jack 6 years ago from radio shack to use for that installation. As I suspected, it failed after a few years. I'm on a new...- zip22

IEM under $100 - Own and like the ER6i, need to replace
I need to order some new IEMs in the next week. Budget is $100, but if there is a killer deal for $50 I can obviously spend less. I have the Etymotic ER6i, but they have seen a lot of use and are no longer working properly. I'm looking for a good balanced sound. Should I stick close to...- zip22

Which lossless codec uses least resources on iPod?
My guess would be the hard drive access would be a bigger drain. ALAC files are significantly smaller so the hard drive wouldn't have to spin up as much.- zip22

dual boot - best media player for library managed on another installationl
I am trying out the Windows 7 RC. I have my iTunes library managed through my XP installation. I was wondering what the best program to use on Windows 7 would be. I don't want to change the library at all, just monitor the music folder that iTunes uses through XP. My plan is to keep...- zip22

I've just created a NW-HD7
5 grams is all it would take to make them equal. Code: nw-hd5 88.7 x 59.9 x 14.2 mm 135g (stock) ipod classic 103.5 x 61.8 x 10.5 mm 140g I'm not meaning to belittle your mod, just correcting a bit of the bragging. also, explain how the ipod classic would be more vulnerable to drops...- zip22

I've just created a NW-HD7
The case is actually larger than the ipod classic - 75 cm cubed vs 67 cm cubed. also, i'm guessing the weights are very close with the addition of the adapter.- zip22

best 100 dollar player with SD support?
why not an 8GB clip for $50 from walmart? much smaller than the D2. why is an SD card required for running? I would think size would be the primary concern and the D2 isn't much smaller (in fact, it takes up more volume). The clip will be cheap, light, and easy to use. also should have some...- zip22

i wish the ipod had the cowon's battery life
cnet.com got 39 hours from the ipod classic (120GB) and 50 hours from the cowon D2. this is with a mix of lossy files, but unless there is some anomaly, they shouldn't be that different with lossless files - they will both be lower, but the difference between the two shouldn't be much different...- zip22
