Maybe it is a better idea for you to buy a Shure product. They are certainly less breakable than the Ety's. I think that the E3 or E4 would really be enjoyable for you. A bit more bassy than the ER6i, but still a nice sound, or so they are reported. Their cables are in a whole different league...
