Naim Flatcap vs. HiCap
digi- Others will know better than I, and hopefully chime in, but in reading the Naim forum, most suggest to go with the best PS you can. With that thinking a Highcap would be better. I have not heard either, (yet) I just picked up a CD5 and am enjoying rediscovering some of my CD's. I...- jayB

I Pulled The Trigger On A Naim CDP..
Hi Kuma- I'll be using Senn 650's with Equinox cable..I know your a Grado fan.. I sold my RS-1's long ago..would be interesting to try them now.. I'll likely go the FC2 route as then 1 box can do both. It will be interesting to compare the Headline/HR-2..I should have the FC & Headline...- jayB

Thanks Kuma, A Flatcap2 & Headline are maybe in the works & I'll likely try and go all DIN connections. If I'm going Naim, I may as well go all the way..- jayB

I Pulled The Trigger On A Naim CDP..
Well I did it. I found a lightly used CD5 someone was selling not far from me for $1100 & I pulled the trigger. Now it's time to try the Naim kool-aid and see what I think. I'll be using it with my HR-2 amp for now, but if I like the sound, I may go all Naim with a FlatCap2 & Headline...- jayB

Naim CDP: Which one gives "best bang for $" around $1k?
Thanks for the reply Kuma. I'm seriously thinking about going with a Naim headphone setup & I'm in the process of researching my options. I heard a friends 5x and really liked it. I like what I've read about Naim as a company, how they design their products, and what i've heard on a...- jayB

Naim CDP: Which one gives "best bang for $" around $1k?
Question to the Naim folk; If I was running say a CD5x with a Naim Headline I would need a power supply (say a Hicap) for the Headline correct? Also, how would I connect the Headline to the CD5x via the power supply, direct to the player, or do I need a naim intgrated amp? I guess my...- jayB

People who use expensive cables on iPods
I download music into my ipod in apple lossless or at minimum 320AAC and use Senn PX100's for phones. I find the sound quality to be very good. I can't imagine someone saying different who listens to it. FWIW my home rig is a Merdian 588>RSA HR-2>Michael Wolff IC's>Senn 650/Equinox cable...- jayB

High End Red Book CD Player Opinions?
I think you've made a fine choice Welly. The Ayre player seems like a winner, and is quite a bit cheaper price wise then say the Audio Research. Just think of all the MUSIC you can buy with the difference, and I really don't feel you'll be giving up much (if anything) in sound quality. I...- jayB

Classe Delta CDP-100???
Welly, I've been following your search for a new CDP as I am in the market eventually to replace my Meridian 588. I see in your profile, you are buying an Audio Research player? What made you change from the Wadia? Just curious.. I like the Meridian sound, and a G08 is a high on my...- jayB

Recommend IC's for my new system
Whatever you decide, try and buy used. You'll get much more bang for the buck and audiogon or here at head-fi have all kinds of cables up for sale all the time. I was able to buy a pait of Michel Wolff IC's used that I couldn't have afforded new. They've made a big difference in my system... -

Power Cord Shoot-Out: 14 Power Cords Reviewed
GREAT JOB mark.. I've bought a pair of Wolff IC's and 2 Iron Lung Cords based mostly on your reviews & have been quite happy.. Do you have thoughts on isolation of components? Vibrapods? BDR Cones? I've been playing with Michael Wolff's "Tuning" Pads which produce some subtle effects...- jayB

Anyone Use Michael Wolff Tuning Pads & Base??
HI Beav, Thanks for the reply. Yes I have the Silver/Gold IC's (W/WBT connectors) and am really happy with them. My setup is Meridian 588>RSA HR-2>Cardas Cord>Senn 650's and the Wolff's have made this rig sound the best it ever has. I'm not as skilled at reviews as most here, but they...
