For me, it's a only a ten-buck upgrade that includes a free upgrade to Amarra 4 Deluxe, when it's released. So, I'm using it, needless to say. So far, I don't see any particular improvement, other than that, now, the art-work always appears, but it's almost too tiny to see. My conclusion thus...

Amarra is Mac-only. That's why a search for Foobar, which is Windows-only, gives no results in this thread.. Why bother about comparing them? Use the one that's specialized for your machine.

I paid $725 for Amarra Symphony, back in the day. That struck me as kind of expensive... till I found out that Symphony once had cost more than a thousand bucks! OTOH, I did pay only $29 for the upgrade.

I know the feeling! I found a new NuForce DAC-9 for the MSRP of my old DAC-100. I couldn't resist, telling myself that, by the time that I get that kind of paper, again, the price of the Z7 may well have dropped. You never know. BTW, NuForce has been bought out by a Chinese video-projector...
