Media monkey is a better option, and it can transcode as it copies files to the ipod/iphone. Sadly it can't convert flac to apple lossless, but it can convert to wav (if you have the capacity), or mp3.

I've no experience of the D10, but I had the same issue with the D12, changing the opamps solved the issue for me.   If you've not tried it, it might solve the problem without shelling out on a new amp.
