HD650 upgrade path
What about the TH-X00s or Emu Teaks? Both under 1k and seem like they'd be in the same vein of the HD650s...if you can spring for it though, the HD800s are end game quality headphones and will just leave your jaw on the floor with tracks you are currently enjoying with the HD650s.- tokendog

ifI iCan Pro - Impressions & Discussion
No problem at all! Yeah, Audio46 was excellent in terms of customer service and shipping time. I ordered on 4/9 and they shipped it first thing yesterday morning. The packaging and courier leaves a little to be desired though. USPS (personal preference, not a fan) and the packaging...- tokendog

ifI iCan Pro - Impressions & Discussion
Just got the IFI ICAN Pro in from Audio46 in NYC and although a brief listen with the HD800s, I'm already impressed. It's a great synergy and seems thus far to give more of everything that the HD800s are great at without messing with the things that the HD800s aren't as good at. Coming from...- tokendog

Looking to pair subwoofer with SWAN M200MKIII
I am primarily wanting to make sure that this will work before I purchase, but I am looking to add a subwoofer for a 2.1 setup with my Swan M200MKIII speakers. I was originally looking at the SVS PB-1000 but then saw that for less than $100 more I can upgrade to the LV12R. From my...- tokendog

Jay Z To Buy Tidal For $56M?
vs. a sample size of 0? I mean you work with what you have, but as you said, my fears may not occur. I hope in this case you are right. Like I said previously, I can't say it will happen, only that it could based on what has happened in the past in similar situations. Anyways, I think we... -
Jay Z To Buy Tidal For $56M?
Actually, in almost all situations in which there is little basis, one would look at the past examples or precedents to determine the most likely outcome or most reasonable concern/fear. For the sake of debate, do you have an example in which a music artist/company such as Dr. Dre / Beats &... -
Jay Z To Buy Tidal For $56M?
Beats/Mog actually does have something to do with it, just not directly. It was a comparison to how Dr. Dre (co-founder of Beats)/ Beats bought out Mog and basically ruined it. Mog, while not as high quality as Tidal, was at one time one of the better streaming services with CD quality music... -
Jay Z To Buy Tidal For $56M?
Bah....sounds like Mog.com all over again. They destroyed Mog. I really hope JayZ stays away from Tidal. -
Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread
If you prefer the HD800s and not the LCDs, you will likely not like the TH-900s. The TH-900s are more inline with the LCDs than the HD800s. They are more bass-oriented but it's very accurate, very rich, and has an extremely low distortion - one of the lowest. However, when someone says they...- tokendog

Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread
Any one who knows me, knows that I've owned and tried numberous headphones... LCD-3, LCD-2.2, LCD-2, HD-800 on several occasions, T1, HE-6, HE-500, HE-400, etc. etc. etc. Out of all of those, the only headphone that I can not sell is the TH-900. It is the last remaining headphone in my...- tokendog

In the past few months I've off loaded a bunch of gear but I find myself unable to sell my TH-900s... I have simply experienced nothing else like them and am convinced I would miss them too much if I sold them. So alas, they remain:- tokendog

WA6-SE has arrived. It's a wonderfully built amp. I'm impressed. It sounds fantastic with the TH-900 right out of the box and I look forward to listening for the differences as it burns in. It's a LOT larger than it looks in the pictures (that's what she said!). Good job, Woo! Now to...- tokendog

Not to derail the thread but this sounds amazing on the TH-900s. Trust me and give it a chance, even if it's not your cup of tea, there is a beastly sub bass around the 1:06 mark... If you want more bass-oriented tracks let me know and I'll shoot them to you in PM. :) ...- tokendog
