I just received my BA700 and I know how to get into my JE. I would very much appreciate any info regarding this battery substitution. Also is this battery protected from over charging. Thank you. DR. SAM iglover@comcast.net- drsamdc

Review by 'drsamdc' on item 'TinHiFi P1'
I've had these for a little over a month. I expected more from the hype these are being given. With additional power from an amp, a change of cable (optional) and digging into your collection of tips, these are very capable and a very good listening experience. If you want lower bass extension...- drsamdc

I am in total agreement as your experience which parallels my own. The back popped off one unit but was easily repaired with a dab of acrylic cement. I was a bit heavy handed. The choice of tips makes a difference as does depth of insertion. I like them with Comply foam tips.- drsamdc

Whats the best Balanced Armature iem you have ever tried?
I have no experience with any of those. The CK90pros with a proper seal (extremely important) and a bit of bass boost on occasion are just a delight, They don't shine at subdued volume and they can benefit being amped. They are very very critical as to what source you listen to. I have a Cowon...- drsamdc

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
It's one of those coincidences that just yesterday I returned to my Ety HF-5s which were unvisited for months. I share your impressions as I imagine the HF-5s have much in common with the ER-4. I've got a box of FOTM IEMs including the Rockit R-50 which share the same driver as the DBA-02. I've...- drsamdc

I find the Ety Triflange seat so deep that the buds are nearly horizontal. Try some Klipsch ovals. Very comfortable, good seal and tames the trebles around 6khz.- drsamdc

Rockit Sounds R-50 Reviews and Impressions
I have a month with the R-50s. Out of the box the memory wire on the left was separated from its unit but remedied with a drop of super glue, so far so good. I was disappointed with the sound until I realized that the drivers were horribly mismatched. I evaluate my IEM's with the following...- drsamdc

The Etymotics HF5 Thread
I really like these HF5s. I bought them as a replacement for my RE 0s after the second set failed and have no regrets. They respond well to equalizing and the bass is more satisfying. I found the Klipsch oval tips fit these perfectly giving equal isolation without any discomfort plus the design...- drsamdc

Listening to headphones and hearing the music
Listening to music is such an individual experience. Do you listen to appreciate what you are listening to or what you are listening with? Does it matter? Does your rig give you what you expect from it or something beyond your expectations? Can you ever be satisfied for long before your mind is...- drsamdc

Etymotic HF5 Tips
These tips from Klipsch fit snuggly and retain the HF5 filters just as the ones from Etymotic. I've used the regular (medium tips) which work great for me and have had no issues. I don't consider it a down side that the insertion is not nearly as deep with these tips and the isolation is nearly...- drsamdc

Review by 'drsamdc' on item 'Phonak PFE 012'
I am one of the crazy guys with a bucket full of IEMs. I listen mostly to my beloved Cowon J3 because I can equalize most IEMs for a sound I like. I have an amp. Now I have the 012s, like I needed yet another in-ear! I purchased the black filters to swap with the installed green based on...- drsamdc

Review by 'drsamdc' on item 'HEAD-DIRECT RE0 In-ear Headphones'
First pair quit working (left channel) in six months. The replacement lasted 4 months and died a similar death. I don't go anywhere with them and they were used primarily at home and treated with care. I didn't bother any further follow-up. Sound was impressive. I liked these a lot and sorry...- drsamdc

New cheap IEM on the block EU-4....
I must fall on my sword. I reviewed these when I first got them and to put it mildly, they sucked. I'm sure there is an audiophile term for suck but that's the term that came to mind upon use. They're very sensitive and the treble is tinny, every cymbal sounds like a tamborine. So I burned them...- drsamdc

Etymotic HF5 Tips
I almost forgot. The Klipsch do not fit the entire length of the HF5 barrels but that has not proved to be an issue. Also the design of the Klipsch keeps the wax protecting plugs in place equal to any of the Etymotic tips.- drsamdc

Etymotic HF5 Tips
The Klipsch are unsurpassed in comfort and isolation and stability in my experience. The mediums fit beautifully. It is unnecessary to jam the tips into the ear anywhere near as far as the triflanges and I can discern no loss in audio characteristics from the shallower insertion. In fact I have...- drsamdc
