Hifiman and the Westone 1 will not suit you based on the info you've provided. The SE215 may not be the best option.  Out of the things you have given, the V moda is probably your best bet.    Look into The Fostex TH5B and TH7B. Denon AH-D1100 also comes to mind. Perhaps the ATH-M50 also. ...

another vote for denons. D2000 and D5000. Also look at the Beyer DT250. Those however are rather unforgiving as far as bass goes. Bad recordings sounds terrible. Listening to some skrillex, it shows up the low quality of of the samples.

yes it would, and does, not to its full potential, but it works

the denons have been tested to have almost perfect reproduction down to 20hz... and has sound down to 15hz at about 1/3 of the volume of 20hz

personally i feel the a2000x from audio technica and edition 8 are pretty good in this regard

If you havent done so yet, try listening in a really quiet room, and to something like the Dark Knight sound track (my bass testing tracks). That will really show the sub bass, and maybe it will change your mind :)
