    NEW! Bose QC25 2014

Meaning the 2.5mm won't fit into the cup due to thickness of the barrel or is it something else?

Anyone know if the OE2 headphone cable is compatible with the QC25?

    Hifiman RE272: Review

Quote: Just wondering if you switched to the Comply because the stock bi-flanges didn't give you a good fit or do they sound much better than the stock?   I am currently using the smaller bi-flanges and I find them extremely comfortable and sound amazing (especially the bass) after...

[REVIEW] HifiMan RE272 – the Purist

Awesome.  I love the analytical sound of the DBAs, but I sold it because I became overwhelmed by the treble in my setup.  So far the RE272 sounds like the perfect replacement.

[REVIEW] HifiMan RE272 – the Purist

Great review ClieOS.  I would like to know if you think the synergy will be good with Sflo2 + Stepdance + RE-272 because my last analytical iem (DBA-02) was too sibilant/fatiguing for me in this combo.

    Burn-in. Real or not?

In my experience, different sets of headphone or iem requires different amounts of burn in.  My D2000 for example sounded different every day until it finally settled down after about 300 hours of use.  I don't think it is from getting used to the their sound signature because it would alternate...

Which Fiio to go along with PC350 and Creative Titanium X-FI Fatal1ty PCI-e

For gaming and movies I think something like the DSS or Mixamp with any sound card that could deliver a Dolby signal would be enough.  However, there are better options for sound cards and amp/dacs if you want to improve the sound quality of music.  If you add an E9 to your DSS you will be...

Which Fiio to go along with PC350 and Creative Titanium X-FI Fatal1ty PCI-e

For the distortion problem I fixed it for my setup by maxing the volume of my Mixamp + PC350 and lowering the sound in the game itself.  I wasn't able to change the volume inside Windows, which was probably because I was using Dolby.  After setting the game volume to about 25% I was able to hear...

Which Fiio to go along with PC350 and Creative Titanium X-FI Fatal1ty PCI-e

Yep, it would sound best using optical and X-fi's Dolby Digital Live with the Mixamp.  However, I have no experience with the Turtle Beach.

Which Fiio to go along with PC350 and Creative Titanium X-FI Fatal1ty PCI-e

Yep, it will be enough.  I found the bass lacking straight out of the X-fi, but using the Mixamp everything sounds a lot clearer, bass is plenty, and music sounds great too.  It didn't need any bass mod that I have seen being recommended for the PC350 in other threads.  I regret selling my...

Which Fiio to go along with PC350 and Creative Titanium X-FI Fatal1ty PCI-e

For gaming I would suggest picking up a used Astro Mixamp for under $100.  I used an older A40 Mixamp with my PC350 and that thing sounds amazing in BC2 or any other game with their Dolby Headphones turned on and fed from my X-fi Xtremegamer's Dolby Live using spdif.  I sold that set and now use...

Meier Audio Quickstep (also Stepdance and 2Stepdance) Discussion and Impressions Thread

I see.  I am just a little bit worried about the wear I'm putting on the power input port for the Stepdance since I have been using it primarily as a desktop amp.  All the plugging and unplugging might be bad since the connection is pretty tight, but I'm not sure if it outweighs having it...

Meier Audio Quickstep (also Stepdance and 2Stepdance) Discussion and Impressions Thread

Does anyone know if leaving the Stepdance plugged via 15v ac adapter 24/7 will be bad or consume lots of power even with device essentially turned off (pass the volume knob click).  I did read that it will get slightly warm, but besides the led still being on I don't know what else is consuming...

    S:flo2 impressions thread

Thanks estreeter, I was hoping you would chime in since I saw that you had both in another thread.  Since I am stuck in front of my computer a lot lately I was just wondering if the MSII would be a huge improvement over Sflo2.  Based on what you said i think I'm going to hold back and save up...

    S:flo2 impressions thread

Does anyone know if the HRT Music Streamer II (not II+) will sound better than the Sflo2?  I searched through the forum and noticed that some claim dedicated desktop DACs $300+ might sound better, but how about something like the MS2? Is it even worth it?  In case it matters, I will be using the...

    From Portable to Computer

Quote: I feel the same way after purchasing my Stepdance.  However, I am probably going to grab a used HRT Streamer II so I can at least make use of my portable amp.

    From Portable to Computer

I am sort of interested in this topic as well.  Would it be wise to just grab an inexpensive external DAC and use it along with the portable amp that he already has?  I am not too familiar with USB DACs but I assume finding one better than the Audigy shouldn't be too hard or expensive and the...

How to Create a D2000 Woody on a Budget [56K Warning]

In case anyone is interested, the wood cups must be flush with the driver's frame.  If there is too much of a gap you would have overpowering bass that isn't listenable.  I originally thought that these wood cups really brought out the bass till i decide to reseat the cups by shaving off a...

How to Create a D2000 Woody on a Budget [56K Warning]

I understand this is an extremely old thread, but instead of creating a new one about the woodies I want to ask if there is any change in sound quality if my wood cups are a little farther away than the ones shown in this page.  What I mean is that the gap between the cup and silver frame is...

    S:flo2 impressions thread

Luckily, I found a fix for my problem.  For some reason the 3-5 minute hang was caused by aligning according to file names.  Switched it back to align by time and everything is working smoothly again.  Thank god since I can't afford another dap at the moment.

    S:flo2 impressions thread

Alright, earlier today I tried using "update media files" in my Sflo2 device and now whenever I try to access the music icon it would take approximately 3-5 minutes to load every time.  Is there an easy fix for this?

    S:flo2 impressions thread

I noticed that when I try to play all tracks, the Sflo2 chooses to only shuffle among the songs loaded into the internal memory and not my microsd.  I haven't looked into it because I sorted everything into giant folders depending on genres and just choose the folder I want to listen to.  ...

Meier Audio Quickstep (also Stepdance and 2Stepdance) Discussion and Impressions Thread

So you're saying the 15v didn't benefit your D5000 as much as it did for the ER4S and LCD2?  In that case I'm a bit relieved because I heard the synergy between Stepdance + D2000 are pretty good, but I was worried I would need 15v to power them up.  They have pretty low impedance though, so I'm...

Meier Audio Quickstep (also Stepdance and 2Stepdance) Discussion and Impressions Thread

Can anyone tell me if the D2000 will sound better with the Stepdance using 15v external instead of a 9v battery and if it is worth getting the D2000 if you're stuck with 9v?  I think the power input might be broken on my Stepdance.

    New Beyer DT1350

I have read through a few pages about the DT1350 and noticed people say that there is no sibilance after some burn in, but how is their synergy with bright sources?  I am planning to use them with Sflo2 + Stepdance and they create quite a bit of sibilance with iems like my DBA-02, so I'm just...
