Philips Fidelio L2
Hey guys, how are ya? I have just recently got back into this hobby after a long long hiatus (years) and have bought myself a pair of philips shp9500 to restart this fun journey (i was juggling between these and the L2, based on reviews the 9500 won because of soundstage). Now Im thinking...- bigheadhifi

Deathmatch: Innerfidelity vs. Headfonia
I find Tyll's review a bit biased and subjective to his preference... He can say a headphone is bad because he does not like.. at least thats my observation on him.. plus I dont really like graphic measurements as review instrument. as for Headfonia, they are a little more objective not the most...- bigheadhifi

Upgrade from AD700's. Need more bass
ultrasone hfi 580 or ATH Pro700mkII... both have some decent isolation, not the best though. or Sennheiser HD25-1 II for more isolation, its a supraaural though cheers,- bigheadhifi

Is it wrong to favor the SQ and signature of a low end HP than the high end ones?
don't confused Sound quality with sound signature though... I think it is fine that you like the signature sound of a cheaper headphones, but it doesn't mean you can't find a similar sound character or close to it in better quality though. jm2c cheers,- bigheadhifi

Logitech UE Headphones
Quote: yea but with that aside, most of the nc or bt headphones are expensive and not that great in sound.. only a few that can managed to achieve success (senn rs220, mm450, psb m4u, polk) where some failed (beats studio, some bose's and hundreds other lol)... that left me thinking...- bigheadhifi

[Review] NVX XPT100, A direct Brainwavz HM5 competitor
what intrigued me is the actual appearance of this headphone itself... unlike the counterparts or should I say twins Fischer FA003/HM5/Yoga/Lindy/Jaycar this has a slightly different cup metal plates. not that it matters much if at all, I just found it kind of interesting. great review btw ...- bigheadhifi

ATH-M50 vs Shure SRH840 vs SRH940 vs Beyerdynamic DT770 vs AKG K550
for movies and such.. DT770pro is a good choice, it has a pretty decent soundstage, and quite a nice sound, a little recessed in the midrange but not too abrupt. might be a little on the high note and treble though. for an allrounder headphone, my suggestion is the m50.. the 840 is also a...- bigheadhifi

Is the Sennheiser HD 205 louder than the HD 438?
probably what swbf meant was when he tried the 438 with the same volume as with the 485 it is less louder, in a way that you can crank up the volume a little more to get a good level of listening volume. it just shows how specs can be misleading sometimes. but no matter how, an audio player can...- bigheadhifi

DT250 Pads with pro700mk2?
I think it's going to be a loose fit though.. cause the dt250 pads are rather elliptical, where the pro700's pads are circular... and it might alters the sound a bit due to the different materials... cheers,- bigheadhifi

How did you become an audiophile?
it all started when I was lookin for a new iem (cheap ones) and I came across quite a few different earphones and it got me started collecting cheap earphones.. then I tried these earphones from Razer 'something', I forgot what it was, but it was pretty good and gave me goosebumps as well as the...- bigheadhifi

Sennheiser HD202 vs Shure SRH440
they are just completely different.. both in class and sound character.. HD202 is a lot darker in comparison to the srh440, it has more enhanced bass and weightier sounding overall. HD202 might also sound kind of laid back where the srh440 is more aggressive and drier sounding. the 440 is...- bigheadhifi

Need Some Help: Had Beyer DT 770 Pro 80s... but those didn't quite hit the mark.
the fact that Beats has something that the Beyers doesnt have is simply just because of the rather different soundsig.. beyer dt770pro, although considered as bassheaviest among beyer lineup or among other headphones for that matter is not extremely bassheavy and the midbass is more controlled...- bigheadhifi

disappointed with shure srh 440
for 100 dollars,,, and bass... the sony xb500.. I gotta be honest, at that price point, it's kind of hard to find a good pair of well balanced sound like the m50. try looking at shures dj offering, the srh550dj shouldn't be too far off your budget.- bigheadhifi

Headphones + amp/dac for a basshead
hd650 is not basshead's headphone.. though they do have some nice quality lows, but not bassheavy at all. for gaming though, it has a nice imaging and soundstage, but might need a little more juice to drive it.- bigheadhifi

How do I let down a beats person softly?
ignorance is bliss, but beats ain't bliss... If I were you, I'd just carry my headphone and my dap and amp, make it look "pro" just to lure his curiousity and let him try the headphone when he ask for it.. lol- bigheadhifi

Upgrading from Sennheiser HD201 to Sony MDR ZX700?
Quote: they are very2 different.. XB series are bassheavy headphones, where zx700 is more neutral in presntation. XB700 will give you a rather recessed mids and piercing highs with deep rumbling bass. ZX700 will give you a more well balanced sound with good vocal repro, and a...- bigheadhifi
