    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

This advice helped me early on as well. I found some recordings unlistenable with the 700s. I also performed an extended break-in, connected to a chip amp fed by a DAP non-stop for a few days. Like most cans they can be very amp dependent. The only commercial hp amps I have left are the Woo wa22...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

Almost seems the Crack was designed for the TS5998 they go together so well. Too bad the 5998 has been hunted to near extinction, I have 4 and guard them closely. I run a Phillips E80CC SQ in the other position, have not rolled tubes for a while. Sennheiser should have a link to the Crack on...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

New HD700 owner here, I haven't had them long enough to make any worthwhile comparisons but so far so good. +2 on the crack and the 800 pairing. I've paired a number of amps with my HD800s many 3 or 4 times the cost of the Crack. The Woo WA22, Cavalli Liquid Fire, and Bijou for example, I still...

    Sennheiser Momentum impressions thread

I've had a pair of Momentums for a month now. I am very happy with the sound quality, easily one of the best closed back Circumaural , (or semi-circumaural) I've owned. The only real complaints I have are the size, if Sennheiser would have made them a tad bit larger I believe these would sell...

I am a RC Helicopter pilot , large electric powered. These birds use huge Li polymer batteries. One of the most important specs is the mAh rating of the battery, exceed this and there is a good chance your battery will taco on you. On another note, I purchased an Anker WiFi ssd/ NAS file server...

No, someone implied I was ham-fisted when I complained about it. It has gotten easier over time, but it is way to sensitive. I like the idea of a touchscreen though, my X3 and HM-901 suffer from the lack of one. Cheers, Shawn

I have the DX50 and the X3, I have not listened to the X3 in over a month. I have never used the front buttons or had any problems with them. If you can afford it, the DX50 is a more refined DAP, IMHO. Cheers, Shawn

This battery seems to be degrading a little faster than most in my experience. Analyzed it and I am getting just about 75% charge when the charging circuit shuts off. I try to follow follow all the basic rules for Li battery life. I have been using the otg usb for storage though and that draws...

+2 same rig here, ordered the DB2 as well. Going to experiment with a fully balanced configuration, can't help myself. If anyone is interested, I picked up a cheap spare battery charger with 3 batteries for the s3(from Amazon). So far they are working fine, I spend quite a bit of time where...

Unfortunately I have to keep a Windows box around for my other obsessive money pit of a hobby, amateur radio. There are apps that are critical for me that are not ported to or have an equivalent for Osx. I refuse to run Windows on any of my Macs. Kinda like buying a Ferrari and putting a Ford...

Although I am a card carrying Apple fanboy, (Macs 30th birthday was yesterday) I use DB poweramp(on a barebones windows box), mainly due to ease of use and it is great for tags. I have zero tag problems when using DB poweramp. XLD is great if you only have OSX equipment.

A wise gentleman I met, an engineer for Linn in the UK, told me something I've always remembered. "The most highly developed and discerning devices we have for the evaluation of sound quality are the human ears, unfortunately, nobody's are calibrated the same!" Cheers, Shawn

+2 it also depends on what format you wish to purchase, Flac and wav will have more 192/24 files available. Hopefully I don't start an argument, but I personally tend to go with 96/24 as I feel any sq difference does not justify the file size and cost difference. I own a number of high quality...

No hardware revisions is a good thing. Just a little FYI to anyone using SDXC cards, I got a couple of more affordable Kingston 128gb cards and had trouble using them. Detection problems, and just not reliable. I was ready to write them off, but a friend told me to try formatting them with a...

I'm not sure if the batch number is actually kept anywhere but IBasso, many companies use Rev. 1-2-3 numbers to denote hardware changes. I have not seen any of those on the Dap.Otherwise the firmware should give you an estimate of the batch number. I ordered mine from mp4 nation also. It took a...

Maybe I'll try my 256gb ssd just for s&g, using a 64gb flash drive I'm not encountering quite as many bugs. Just the fact you have to hot plug the otg adapter and the dx50 keeping the tracks in the database after otg removal. Oh well, I have three 128gb sd cards and an adapter so I guess I will...

I agree, the only person who has to like the sq of your gear is you. If a dap sounds better amped than not then by all means use an amp. Perception is reality when it comes to a highly subjective topic such as audio sound quality. There is little or no scientific explanation for much of the gear...
