ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |
Hey everyone, I have an X1 with a cracked 2.5 jack. I guess there's an Onkyo service center in the Midwest somewhere (Illinois maybe?) that I'm supposed to send this to. Would anyone happen to have the info on where to send for repair? I haven't found the specific place after some internet...- BillOhio

ZMF Auteur Thread
Listening to Tidal via RME9632/Yaggy/ECAficionado(modded with better than stock caps) going back and forth between Ether Flows and Teak Auteurs. I could easily live happily with either set of cans. The Auteurs are a bit more 'crisp' (defined?) to my ear where the Ether Flows are just a bit...- BillOhio

Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread
I recently Upgraded Mjolnir2 and Gumby to Yggy2(Yaggy) and a modded (upgraded capacitors) EC Aficionado. Listening through Ether Flows or Auteurs. I have no idea what the measurements are and could care less. A good drink and some well recorded music and I'm gone Baby. Yaggy with a true tube...- BillOhio

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones
After hearing what my Eflows could do running out of Gumby/Sonnet2 I upgraded from Mjolinir 2/Sonnet2 and Gumby to Yggdrasil 2 and an Eddie Current Aficionado. Really enjoying the rig, and EFlows do some very cool things playing off of higher tier gear. The stage and holographic presentation is...- BillOhio

I've been using Gumby/MJ2 for the last year and it didn't make much difference whether you use RCA or XLR. The DNA Stellaris is a $6,700 highly respected Amp that doesn't even offer a XLR input except as an option. RCA is fine.- BillOhio

I'm an Ether Flow owner who hasn't heard the AEONs but Tyll isn't the only one who prefers the AEONs. I can listen to my EFlows all day though and not be fatigued by them. YMMV.- BillOhio

Schiit Gungnir DAC
If someone's not familiar with the need to let the DAC warm up for a couple days then they may be initially disappointed with the Gumby. That was my experience.- BillOhio

NM, I was going to give some pointers on the Gumby but then I noticed your profile and realize you've got a handle on setting up a DAC. :)- BillOhio

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones
I got my new E Flows for $2,500 Canadian exactly through a distributor and with full warranty. The Z1R's would have been another $900 after tax, the HeK2's another $1900 and the Utopias another $3,150 barring any discounts. I didn't consider Audeze on account of the reputation for poor comfort...- BillOhio

They might be Kings - High-end Headphone Shootout
On my Gumby/Mjo2 the Beyers can be pretty sharp where there are high notes in the music (Edge from U2's guitar playing or the organ playing in some Doors tracks, for instance.) I hadn't noticed it though when the Beyers are paired with a Onkyo DP-X1, though my particular hearing and treble... -

Maybe give Beyer T5p2's a listen if you have the chance. I'm don't have any complaints with them as portables. -

Then I think I'm 'home' for now. I'm gonna go ahead and call the Battle Station 'Armed and Operational'... I guess now it's time to stop screwing around on Forums and get to work :)- BillOhio

HA! I've been using a new to me set that got dropped off 20 minutes ago actually, funny. Listening to Cake (War Pigs, I will Survive) via Tidal... very rich sound, and the bass pops a bit more than with those mystery 6922s. Is there a warm up period for tubes? I pretty much just plugged and...- BillOhio

I'm sure someone has gone from the Mjolnir2 to the Rag with the Ether Flows. I wonder how that experience has gone... ?- BillOhio

New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation
My Desktop is a Gumby/Mjo2/EtherFlows. My DP-X1 and T5p2s as my portable don't give up That much. I'd imagine the Mojo might even be overkill and an Oppo HA2 would run the T5P2 just fine. The DP-X1, especially balanced, doesn't have any trouble pushing them.- BillOhio

Am I misinterpreting this or does Tyll basically say at 5:20 that the Z1Rs are nice so long as you don't turn the volume up...? Quote: -

Ten came out my senior year of highschool. Every party that year ended up with all of us being drunk on cheap beer and thinking really deep thoughts while Black played in the background. Usually not before somebody got in a fight while NIN was on.- BillOhio
