Ultrasone Signature Pro vs Signature DJ vs HD600

I haven't heard the signature djs, but compared the to HD600 (from memory), I'd say the signature pros are similarly smooth, but sound more detailed and clear. The soundstage obviously won't be as big, since it's closed headphone, so if you can look past that, I think you'll enjoy the signature...

    Ultrasone Pro 2900 Thread

I have both the Lcd-2 rev-2 and the pro2900 with a custom cable. I honestly prefer the pro2900 for trance, although the lcd-2 have a larger soundstage; the pro2900 sound more exciting, have more bass impact, and just feel like they are superior at conveying the energy of the genre. I also think...

    Ultrasone Pro 2900 Thread

You should give the Audeze lcd-2 rev-2 a try. Rather than sounding recessed, the treble sounds very natural. I would claim that most dynamics have exaggerated over mids and lower treble, so in contrast the treble of the lcd-2 might sound a bit too smooth, but since when was smooth treble a bad...

    Ultrasone Pro 2900 Thread

Fair enough. To me the pro2900 are very revealing and if the source has been poorly recorded they will most probably sound thin and shrill. However, play some Diana Krall and the body and texture is very good for a dynamic, even when contrasted to the lcd-2. But, I suppose to each his/her own...

    Ultrasone Pro 2900 Thread

Thanks for the review post! Very articulate and well written. I don't agree completely agree with it, but hey! we all have different systems and unique sets of ears...    I would not claim that the pro2900 have very recessed mids and I also think their sound has more body than the DT990 and...

    Ultrasone Pro 2900 Thread

I'm not too sure. The pro2900 go rather loud before they distort. Definitely loud enough for mastering. Try driving them through something else. You could try to go to a nearby audio-store and hooking them up to another setup. Just claim that you're looking to buy a new source for headphones...

    Ultrasone Pro 2900 - Mixing/Critical listening???

No problem, man. Anticipating your impressions!  You should post them on this forum: http://www.head-fi.org/t/577311/ultrasone-pro-2900-appreciation-thread/255#post_8357904 Also, have you ever considered getting custom iems? They are probably best type of headphone when it comes to mastering...

    Ultrasone Pro 2900 - Mixing/Critical listening???

Hey Raw Science, I used to own the pro900 and now I own pro2900, Lcd-2 rev2, and rooth custom iems with 6 drivers. The pro2900 are more neutral than the pro900. Albeit being heavy and hard-hitting, the bass seems neutral and very tight. Bass response seems rather flat. The treble is slightly...

    Ultrasone Pro 2900 Thread

It's been a while since I've listened to the dt990 250ohm, so I don't really want to go into detail, but I know for sure that the pro2900 was also more to my liking and felt generally more refined. I distinctly remember the imaging and detailing to be superior on the pro2900, but like I said...
