++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
So I've had my HD-555's for quite some time now and they've treated me well, however I'm kind of wanting a different pair. I recently started listening to a lot of House and Dubstep so I'm looking for some headphones with a ton of bass. I don't have an amp, and I would rather not get one unless...- JFroese

Have i missed something in Skullcandy
They have bright colours and look nice. That's all they care about. Whenever I try and argue to one of my friends how bad Skullcandy, Bose or Monster is it always ends badly...- JFroese

Shure SRH840 vs Audio Technica ATH-M50 vs Shure SRH750dj
840 no doubt. The M50 would probably be the next best, but there's a big performance gap from the 840's to the M50's imho.- JFroese

what are your favourite headphone brands?
I am the ultimate Sennheiser fanboy. Audio Technica would be a distant second though.- JFroese

Could someone recommend me some headphones for wearing outside? The only ones I can think of is the ES7's, but I'd like to weigh my options considering I've heard horror stories of how they fit, lol. I'd be looking for something that would do well with Metal and/or Electronic music, easily...- JFroese

Alright so I'm looking for some headphones that will contrast my HD-555's nicely. Around the same price, easily driven, closed and good for Metal and/or Electronic. Not interested in Grado. Go!- JFroese

What Headphones should I buy?
I have modded HD-555's which are most likely a similar version of the HD-598. I love mine for...everything, I mean, they're solid at pretty much everything. Movies, Music, Gaming...They lack a bit in bass for some people, for me it's perfect. I'm sure you'll love 'em.- JFroese

Best looking headphones
Sennheiser HD 25-1's look pretty sweet. I like the looks of WeSC headphones as well, but they sound atrocious.- JFroese

please help!? im new!
The HD-555's are awesome for gaming, movies and music. Probably some of the most versatile budget audiophile headphones out there. I would recommend getting the HD-555 and modding them so that they're essentially a 595, and maybe just save the rest of your money because I don't really think...- JFroese

what headphones are you receiving/giving over the holidays.
Got my buddy some Sennheiser HD-558's and he got me some other headphones which I am unsure of. I think they might be M50's but I can't be certain.- JFroese

Is the soundstage on M50s good enough for FPS gaming? (Torn between HD555s and M50s)
The M50's are really bad for first person shooters, where as the HD-555's are, in my opinion, one of the best headphones for gaming.- JFroese

The one headphones you use most in your collect?
I probably use my HD-555's the most, but then again my collection only consists of SR-60's, M50's and SRH240's.- JFroese

Songs that make your headphone WOOOOOW!!!
I really love deadmau5's Strobe coming through my 555's. -
Upgrade HD555's?
I would say not. I found them to be fairly similar, you'd probably be much better off saving for some cans that contrast the HD-555s nicely rather then getting another very similar pair.- JFroese

Oh Yeah, Another Help Me Find Headphones 4 Christmas (indie rock + drum n bass edition)
Grados are great for rock, not so good for electronic (at least in my opinion). I'm a Sennheiser Fanboy so I'd say see what they have to offer, with a budget like that the possibilities are endless...- JFroese

Most comfortable pair of cans for $75-150
Quote: Never tried the AKG K240, but I used to have a pair of the AD700s and I never found them to be exceedingly comfortable. I always liked my HD-555 more, but that's just me.- JFroese

Noob here but done my research. Deciding on first decent pair!
I have the HD-555 and M50. The HD-555s are not great for hip-hop, they do leave a little to be desired in terms of bass, but the sound stage is second to none, they are extremely comfortable and are great for gaming. The M50 on the other hand has far better bass, but lacks the sound stage...- JFroese

looking for headphones for everyday/library use
I use my HD-555s in a library. Unless you love listening to your music obnoxiously loud, you should be fine with any type of headphones in a library environment.- JFroese

Have you done the foam mod on your HD-555s? I found that that increased the bass quite a lot.- JFroese
