It's also interesting how BournePerfect swears by the K702 for gaming, while tdockweiler says the opposite. I wish there weren't so many headphones in this world to choose from. Not really, but it would make it easier.

Nice setup, but are you playing mp3s out of iTunes or ALAC? It seems like some overly high quality stuff for mp3s.

I am using USB with ASIO4ALLv2 as the output source in foobar2000. Is that good enough or does wasapi sound better?

True, the AD700s sound great unamped as well, but if you want a portable one, i have heard some good things about the FiiO E7 and then you can add the E9 if you want to it later.

At is price point, you would be hard pressed to find a better headphone. They are generally regarded as some great headphones for entering audiophiles. However, certainly not the best.

So how many people agree that the DT 880 is really the holy grail? Is this a wide consensus, or do others have some more opinions they would like to weigh in?
