Does anybody have a recommendation for an inexpensive yet solid headphone stand suitable for the HD 800s?

Hi All, It's been a while. Does anybody have a recommendation for aftermarket replacement pads that are cheaper than the original? Not looking to change the sound, just better durability at a better price. Not convinced of trying the $14 ebay ones though. Thanks!

I wouldn't stress too much about the head-amp being not fully discrete.  From what I saw, others can confirm, it looks like a DIP 8 per channel, i.e. two BJTs per channel, which should offer excellent performance.

Just to say I did end up going with the BCL.  It has more bass at low volumes than the Rhinelander, and is smoother and has a fuller and more defined soundstage throughout.  Highs are sweeter. There are no technical issues like the channel imbalance I thought I heard the first time.  In short...

I don't think all of the circuitry in the Rhinelander is exactly the same as the BCL minus the PSU caps and toroidal PSU.  For one thing, the BCL has an ALPS volume pot (some amps with the alps like the X can v3 have an imbalance, but the BCL seemed fine and so did the one on the Rhinelander...

Although there is an Australian distributor for SPL, they are in Melbourne (I'm in Sydney), and they will only sell it on a no returns/ change of mind basis.  They may distribute to a shop in Melbourne that is willing to do this.  It's $1099 AU RRP for the black one, which is much better value...

Sorry I haven't replied for a while - I was away.  Thanks for the replies in the meantime.   stainless824 - You have said that the bcl in slightly more neutral than the burson, while the burson has a slightly wider soundstage.  I already heard great instrument separation with bcl + HD 800...

sawindra, I already did look inside both amps and you get more in the Burson (discrete input stage, stepped attenuator).  However, did you see that I mentioned that I am going to get HD 800 + Rhinelander for $2000 AUD or HD 800 + BCL for $2850 AUD?  So if I went with the Burson I would have to...
