Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
Quote: No, I haven't tried another source. It's my best source currently. I'm thinking about upgrading my sound card to a better one, not sure yet which one. I blame you for having the DJ100. I bought them because of your thread and posts =P. I like vocals, so I always wanted...- Hanni

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
I recently got a pair of these. I'm a tad overwhelmed by the mids. They're very forward. I tested this mainly with Acoustic tracks by Paramore, which I remember enjoying more with my PC360. Any suggestions? Edit: I feel the vocals are overpowering everything else.- Hanni

@Armaegis and Parall3l He has preemptively ordered the HFi 780, and if he likes the sound but thinks he needs more bass, he'll trade for the 580. I'll tell him to look into the M-Audio if not convinced by Ultrasone. The Ultrasone Pro 750/900 are out of budget. Not really...- Hanni

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Looking for bass-strong headphones. A friend tried some Beats Studio and really liked them (the bass). So I'm looking for something between 100-200 bucks that performs in bass like that or better. I guess he's looking for more of a good bass extension rather than a tight bass. So...- Hanni

after 20 mins of Pink noise, My m50 transformed!!!!!!
Quote: "Burn-in is not a myth, it just depends on the construction of the driver. Most headphones use ferrofluid to suspend the coil in the electromagnetic gap, or have no spider and the only part to undergo burn-in is the surround of the diaphram itself. To "burn-in" a part you...- Hanni

Best Sennheiser under $100!!!
Quote: No, that would apply to closed headphones. Closed headphones, no matter the isolation, if you max the volume, it'll leak. But an open headphone, in this case the HD555, is like an.. ugh, open speaker. They'll hear everything. Unless you play at very low volumes, but then, you...- Hanni

Best Sennheiser under $100!!!
If you want to use them at the library, you will want to avoid open design headphones, such as the Sennheiser HD 555. I wouldn't recommend the HD 448 really. If you want an awesome sounding cheap, comfortable, pair of headphones, get the Creative Aurvana Live.- Hanni

Having a tough time picking out closed and some what portable-ish HP's
Quote: Nonsense? Adequately? It seems our understanding of the word "adequately" differs very much, or you just have low standards. The HD 25-1 II is power hungry, if you're gonna have them hooked up to an iPod, you'll have to almost max out the volume to get any decent sound. There's...- Hanni

Having a tough time picking out closed and some what portable-ish HP's
Quote: Well, what do you mean with full size? The HD 25 is no IEM, lol. Yes, it is portable, but it's full sized. Supra-aural instead of circumaural, tho. The HD 25 looks awesome on pictures, honestly. You know, those you find in the Sennheiser website, all photoshoped and stuff. But...- Hanni

Senn HD25 MKII??? I guess he means the HD 25-1 II. Anyways, I wouldn't emphasize on the "EASY" to drive part. They should be used with an amp. Btw, if you care about looks, be careful. The Senn HD 25 don't look too good.- Hanni

Which headphones are these? Need experts on AKG.
Quote: No, I never did, lol. Yes, I asked which headphones those were. That's asking for confirmation. I read on ebay they were AKG141 from the 90s, but with no other description. I'd rather trust someone here who knows better. You certainly don't, so you feel the need to troll. Too bad...- Hanni

What closed cans do you recommend from Sennheiser?
I had the Sennheiser HD 25, but returned them after a week (burn in and all). They sound very, very good. The problem was, they have a very aggresive sound. Bright, and it hurt my ears. I realized I liked a darker kind of sound, and more relaxing. I also didn't like that they had a...- Hanni
