Is my M50 genuine?
They look the same as mine, white box and everything, and I got mine from a licensed New York dealer. There are slight color discrepancies but that's probably due to the camera's quality.- TLDMan

M50 owner poll - How long can you wear them?
Quote: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/495968/m50-with-440-840-pads ^Check that thread out for some more info. Apparently there's a change in sound for some, but a high improvement in comfort seems to be unanimous. I'll probably get a pair myself soon.- TLDMan

M50 owner poll - How long can you wear them?
At first I could only listen 15-30 minutes without making major readjustments, but now I can go for hours without problems most of the time, though some minor readjustments are sometimes needed. I've heard the SRH-840 pads help this problem a lot.- TLDMan

Just got my ATH-M50...
The bass is clear and tight from the get-go. I'm not a believer in burn-in and therefore didn't go for it, but after a period of time of listening to the headphones the bass got stronger for rap/dubstep songs, so some time might do the trick. Also, your name is ironic. "No Regret", yet you...- TLDMan

Are these Audio Technica M50 fake?
Quote: I have the same version. Bought them from an authorized dealer, it feels and sounds high quality and nothing about them seems fake, so I'm pretty sure they're real. Also, I bought a turntable from Audio-Technica that had a box that looked very similar to the headphone's box, so...- TLDMan

Cable annoyance help
I like my HD201s, but they have a problem that I can't seem to get used to. While one side of the V-shape is straight, the other side curves inward. This causes it to press up against the skin with even the slightest movement, something that has become extremely annoying. I'm not getting used to...- TLDMan

Sennheiser HD595 vs Bose QC15
If you think they sound similar, don't need isolation and are willing to stand by each of those things, it makes so much sense to return the more expensive (the Bose.) Even if you notice just a slight difference in favor of the Bose, ask yourself if it's a $150 difference.- TLDMan

The M50s are pretty uncomfortable...
I love my M50s sound-wise, but I find them impossible to wear for even a short amount of time. There's a pressure point on the headband it seems like, and I get headaches from wearing them. I've stretched them out, and that worked the next time I put them on, but the next day, I had the same...- TLDMan

[*UPDATED*] M50s, are they the best for me? (most likely not anymore)
Quote: Demand/price. It's a common principal of economics, but I'm not sure why it took so long to affect the M50s. You may have to push your budget a little.- TLDMan

Audio Technica ATH M50 (Portable Use)
Something you might like to know is that the M50s are a very revealing headphone, so if your source files are low quality then it'll sound bad, period. Also, out of my iPod Classic, my Portapros sound better than my M50s (because the Portapros aren't as revealing.) I've never tried a Zune so I...- TLDMan

In-Line Volume Control?
I have a slight hearing problem so one side is louder than the other. To solve this problem on all systems, I'm thinking of getting an in-line volume control to manually balance the sound. Is this the best way to go about solving this problem? Can it affect sound quality? And is there a...- TLDMan

Request: A Song to Test L/R Loudness
Quote: Thanks, I'll try it out. And it doesn't have to be a song, an audio file that either stays completely mono or has a part that goes one ear to the other or whatever would do the trick. I'm not sure if there's designated audio for this situation.- TLDMan

Request: A Song to Test L/R Loudness
Not sure where to put this thread; this seems like the best place. I'm pretty sure my headphones have a slight imbalance (not too bad, only about 15% louder in one ear I'd say.) However, it's quite annoying. I want to know if it's the headphones, my ears, or the source that is causing the...- TLDMan
