[REVIEW] Aurisonics ASG-2 & 2.5 (with many comparisons)
+1 to whoever mentioned the Rat Shack brand Auvio tips for the ASG-2. Picked up the assorted pack for just under $9.00, they also sell sizes individually for $4.99 if you already know what you need. I have been struggling with seal vs comfort and these solved the issue for me.- basementdweller

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
Quote: Oh, yeah I know. He has no idea what he has. To make matters worse, he isn't going to give it to me as far as I can tell. It will probably end up matted to some Wal-Mart speakers and iBuds! Must think of something I can trade him......- basementdweller

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
So I can't find any high power Marntz or Pioneer units where the seller isn't grossly over-inflating the value, or too far away, or unloads it the day before I get to it. My Dad knows I am into this kind of stuff and I think he just picked up a working 2270 for $20. damn.- basementdweller

[REVIEW] Aurisonics ASG-2 & 2.5 (with many comparisons)
Quote: Yeah, that is how it is, and was, set. I remember someone mentioning it before I even put them in. They sound great now, they just didn't at first. Going to give it a week and then switch back to stock cables just to see what happens. I mean at this point it has to be either...- basementdweller

[REVIEW] Aurisonics ASG-2 & 2.5 (with many comparisons)
Quote: Yeah that's a good idea and I will do that. I didn't really intend to ask a question other than maybe a rhetorical one. Really, I was just trying to share some of my initial impressions. I generally make up my mind rather quickly whether I like something or not, and these have...- basementdweller

[REVIEW] Aurisonics ASG-2 & 2.5 (with many comparisons)
I don't know if it matters at all, but I just received my ASG-2 and have only listened to it for three 30 minute sessions. I honestly wasn't completely impressed by anything because the bass bleeds over on all my 90's and newer music...this doesn't seem to be the case with my recordings from...- basementdweller

Now on firmware 1.081 and everything recorded in 24bit and above 96khz still plays super slow. Tried using Music Converter Pro to convert said annoying ALAC files...it maxes out at 96khz and downgrades everything to 16bit :(- basementdweller

Yes, definitely thanks for the links. Really wish Hifiman would put them on their website, but I guess they'll get to that eventually as they have them for all their other DAPs.- basementdweller

UPS delivered. So far this thing is everything it was hyped up to be. Part of me always thought these high end players were more of a placebo than anything else, but I've owned several other Hifiman products in the past, they sounded amazing, so I gave them the nod when it came time for a one...- basementdweller

General tube and nontube amp questions

Okay, so the minibox amp card is probably if you are interested in running full size headphones unbalanced, IEM card is obviously for IEMs. The balanced amp card can run single ended or balanced but not a lot of volume range for sensitive IEMs, I am guessing. Am I missing anything? Wouldn't...- basementdweller

Preamp suggestion for Cary V12?
So I bought this monster two years ago off ebay and never bothered to take it out of the box: Now, I know, who in their right mind does something like that? The reasons are probably too personal to get into on a forum, but I did. Today I hooked it up to my NHT classic 3s for no good...- basementdweller

I have the VP 130 phono preamp of theirs, but I didn't know they even made a headphone only amp. The VP 130 also has a headphone jack and the two look virtually identical cosmetically except for the different color. One could probably go out on a limb and say the inards are very similar if not...- basementdweller
