Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

Indeed they don't differentiate and all drivers carrying the partnumber are of equal (stellar) performance...   Mr. Recorder, don't kid yourself thinking your definition of an engineer is anywhere near realistic, it rather sketches your narrow minded and twisted point of view (along with all...

Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

Man this guy is stubborn as a donkey, and obviously out here only for the argument rather than bringing new ideas or even something inspiring....   And for the record, no I am not a rapper! I'm an electronics engineer and designer as a matter of fact and I love classical music.   I can't...

Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

I'm sorry to say, but after what was already discussed this was what struck me as rather a dumb/stupid rap: Quote: Because it brought nothing new, we already knew the minor differences and already confirmed this does not justify the price difference. Hence my remark about marketing...

Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

Quote: In the winter? On the bicycle? LOL (joke...)   Interesting thread, yet always annoying when there's this one guy making gigantic write ups that are based on nothing.... And as expected a 595 owner...

Yikes! Some people are stupid! C'mon Recorder, you should know better!!   (I guess you've never heard of marketing tricks...)

Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

No, these are non end user available parts, and indeed if shops would sell them with the same margin as the phones they would become quite expensive, about 35 to 40 dollars a piece I'd think...   I can get them cheaper...;)

Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

I just kept fogetting to call Sennheiser, but I just did and the element they deliver as spare part is identical for the 555 and the 595... Partnumber 512807 for the left side....   Then I have to admit it is a ridiculous price difference for the whole headphones!!!

Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

Ok received the five 555 headphones... They sure are very nice, although I have serious reservatiosn with the choice of the 6,3mm female to 3,4mm male converter plug!! These are notorious for wrecking sockets!!   Solved that with an adapter cable now...   Still no answers from Sennheiser...

Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

I agree with most of such 'differences' are mere marketing tricks, hoaxes, etc... Sadly I didn't get the chance to call Sennheiser today, but will do next week...   If they carry the same partnumber we know for certain the drivers are identical, if not I'll order a 595 driver to compare for...

Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

A retailer... wel that's not a reliable source of information at all, they might just find that convenient.   I'd rather trust the Sennheiser distributor.   I can get this information, no problem. I'll give the Dutch distributor a call tomorrow if I see a chance during the day...   I...

Sennheiser HD555 and HD595 internal comparison shots

Hi,   It seems to me the magnet system is quite different. The back of the 555 looks like a cover made of pressed steel while the 595 seems like one solid block of neodymium...   I can tell from experience that a frequency response curve doesn't say anything about decay and impulse...
