Beats are some sexy "thangs", they don't have the sound for that price range, but they are marketed better than any other headphone I own. I've brought my beyerdynamic DT990/250ohm to school with my FiiO E7 and proved to a couple people that beats are the most over priced pieces of crap ever...

Koss PortaPro's are great headphones IMO and they are around that price I believe. Definately portable, but not very stylish. They have a great soundstage, don't know about bass, but they will have threads up on them around the forums.

I haven't used one, but for that low of a price I would definately try it. It looks like it will have a pretty bad sound quality, but for podcasts and similar things it should be great.

You may want to check out the AKG K701s. With the right amp they are supposed to be amazing, I don't know if they are amazing for EVERY genre, but great headphones none the less.   Quote:
