Could you elaborate more on what the Lawton mod did to your TH600s? I'm considering it for my X00s, but don't know how much difference there would be because of the X00s wood cups.   Also, I tried the Alpha Pads and actually thought that they accentuated the V signature that the X00s have...

The long cable bothered me at first, but after a while it is hard to not have a longer cable. It is just so useful sometimes. In the situation where it is not useful, I just bundle up the part I don't need and clip it to something so it isn't weighing down the cans.   Making it detachable...

I just got the TF10's and they have a fairly similar sound signature, plus they are only a bit more expensive.

I agree that customs are terrible for sleeping on your side. My UE700's before they were reshelled were amazing for bed. You could barely feel they were there even on your side.

Does anyone have any info regarding the Atrio MG7's or the Hifiman RE262's?

The 580's with the ZO2 is nothing but distortion. But the ZO1 works amazingly if you can get your hands on one.  It probably has something to do with the ZO2 having two amps; a pre-amp and the ZO1 amp section.   No distortion from the ZO1 with the 580's
