I was also introduced to the Hifiman HE-4 and other low impedance models that are mid pricing.  I liked how they looked and they seemed easy to drive with an iPhone but I'm not sure on their sound signature.

I looked into them, they look amazing! Are they really that much brassier than the sr325i's?  Would you consider them worth the moolah?

I've looked into the AKG line but i hear they are really neutral, I'm not a guy that wants flat balanced perfect sound, Id like a good soundstage with powerful and clear audio.  Has anyone heard any Bang&Olifson stereo? blew my mind and I always wanted that in a headphone without needing an amp.

K so i own an ibasso d10 portable amp.   I loved my Beyers (dt990/600ohm) but theyre too power hungry. i was considering just getting the 250 ohm version, my question is am i taking a massive step back in audio quality?  i can handle alittle downgrade with being able to take them on trips...

i would agree, off or flat is good. sometimes i feel as though the loudness setting work pretty well as long as you dont crank it like crazy.

Now is it best to run the mini USB from the iopd dock into the amp? Or run the audio Jack to the amp? My amp runs a USB input DAC.
