The Beyerdynamic Tesla DT 1350 Impressions thread
Quote: Thanks for the info. I can get my hands on a CMOY to play with, and for the $20-$25 I'll probably just order an E5 to play with as well. I'll probably just drive myself nuts listening for differences (and not getting work done!)- SouthernBoy

Just picked up dt-1350s for $175 ($183 out the door) from amazon, but it seems the stock was quite low. YMMV.- SouthernBoy

I have $100 to spend at Amazon: What would you do?
Thread Necromancy... again... held onto the last $100, now getting another bonus 100. They're both Visa check cards, so they can be used pretty much anywhere. Do I reshell TF10's or do something else completely?- SouthernBoy

The IEM/Portable Headphones Deal Alerts Thread - Closed! Use the Deals Thread III instead.
Quote: Mine came apart in < 1 year. Nothing that some super-glue couldn't fix, though. Nothing was actually damaged, they just came "un-glued" at a seam in the housing. Today you cannot even tell it happened, but I, for one, wouldn't say they're not going to break. Maybe, like the...- SouthernBoy

Quote: In for 1 pair of the Citiscape Uptowns. If they sound decent, I'll be using them a TON at work, since I have about 8 hours a week of conference calls on my Galaxy Nexus, and I'm getting tired of taking off my 'phones.- SouthernBoy

Pictures Of Your Portable Rig (part XV)
Quote: According to Fostex's literature, in this case you are correct. They use the 30-pin connector to get at the digital signal, feeding it into the HP-P1's USB input, so this isn't an LOD. It's a digital connector to bypass the iPod's DAC, using the HP-P1's instead.- SouthernBoy

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Quote: Not sure about the DAC in the ipad2, but with some external USB DACs (not sure if it's tested on the E17) you can use the Camera Connection kit to bypass the DAC+ HP AMP altogether and send the digital signal to a USB DAC directly. I think you'd have to set the E17 to not charge...- SouthernBoy

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Quote: I wonder if this is an issue of either Fiio not anticipating the demand and, therefore, not ramping-up production quickly enough, or Fiio's suppliers having issues meeting demand, effecting the supply chain all the way through to mp4nation. Kinda reminds me of the Nintendo Wii...- SouthernBoy
