Listen to them and if you like them then they are good headphones.   People hear differently and thus the definition of a "good" headphone varies. There will be people who tell you measurements matter and all that jazz but in my opinion it does not matter if a headphone has the best...

Your point? What was the amp? I used a neutral HDVD800 DAC/Amp and the differences were minimal.

You could try the Sennheiser HD650. They may not have as much bass but they sound almost identical to the LCD-2s.

They are pretty good for bass heavy songs but they won't really cut it for classical in my opinion. They sound cluttered and it is almost like a wall of sound coming at you.

You could always go for the NFB 10.32 to save space and money. It's fully balanced and has balanced and single-ended headphone outputs and tons of power. Audio-gd favors optical so that would be your best bet. Or a USB to optical transport would work just as well if not better.

Thanks for the add Frank. I don't really have anything to bring unfortunately. I only have a pair of MDR-v6s with Beyerdynamic pads but I'm sure that's just boring compared to what everyone else is bringing. I look forward to meeting everyone though!

Goodness that's A LOT OF MONEY!    It would also be pretty helpful to compare headphones for reviews though if you can run all 4 of them at the same time and just take one off and put another on.

The Schiit amps are tested with the Beyerdynamic 600ohm headphones and they have been reported to sound pretty good out of them. The Asgard 2 would be more futureproof for you since it has a gain switch so you can use a wider variety than the Valhalla which is an OTL amp so it would only work...

Do you already have a DAC? If not, you'll need one.   As for amps, maybe the Schiit Valhalla. You're not really going to find many quality tube amps within your budget to be honest though. Why do you specifically want a tube amp?

Well it looks like you've got your finances in check and you are willing to spend your budget. So with that in mind, the Lyr is a good choice or you could go for end game and get the well regarded DNA Stratus and a DAC like the Bifrost or Gungnir and then the LCD-2 and call it a day.

You say you're a teenager so I assume you're either in High School or College.    With that in mind, I'd say maybe start modestly with a mid-fi rig and then save money for more essential items. Maybe an LCD-2 and then an entry level amplifier and DAC. Perhaps something from Audio-GD since...
