"Audio interface" but just for outputs?
I'm basically looking to get balanced audio output to active studio monitors from my PC. Essentially what I want is an audio interface, but I don't need any of the inputs, just the balanced output (I get buzzing in the monitors if I use unbalanced). Volume control is optional as I can...- Royal2000H

Sub + Active Monitors: Splitter vs Sub with line-level output?
I just bought a pair of JBL LSR305 (haven't received them yet). I'm looking to get a budget subwoofer. The Dayton SUB-1200 has line-level input but only high-level output, so I would need to use a splitter from my DAC and run it to the sub and the monitors. The Monoprice 12" sub has...- Royal2000H

Budget SUB - Monoprice 12" vs Polk PSW10 vs Dayton SUB-1200?
I would match the sub with a pair of JBL LSR305 (that I just bought, haven't received yet). For music and movies off my computer. Obviously staying within a budget of ~<$150. The monoprice are on sale now for Black Friday so now's the best time to decide. Monoprice 12"...- Royal2000H

ODAC for Monitors?
Well I was saying I don't have anything at all at the moment other than some old cheapo speakers (Altec Lansing ACS65i) and an ODAC (and O2) that I've been using for headphones. That's why there really isn't "Stick with what you have" yet. I was eyeing the Monoprice 5" monitors. I never...- Royal2000H

ODAC for Monitors?
Thank you for the thoughtful responses! Quote: OK great you've alleviated my concerns about balancing. Unless I start noticing noise issues along what RonaldDumsfeld mentions, I'll just consider balancing a non-issue. Thanks for the prime info about splitting output from ODAC to both...- Royal2000H

ODAC for Monitors?
It does, thanks for the reply. I meant something more along the lines of should I be using a different interface entirely instead of the ODAC? Is balancing an issue, for example? Clearly I'm new to studio monitors but have noticed a mention of balanced vs unbalanced inputs. EDIT: And how do...- Royal2000H

ODAC for Monitors?
I never put in a soundcard for my PC so it really only has motherboard audio. I already have an ODAC (and an O2 amp) for headphones. If I get studio monitors (like the monoprice 5" or something similarly priced) do I just plug into the ODAC with a stereo breakout like...- Royal2000H

Bang for buck headphone tube amp?
Thanks for the responses! If I get the MK II, is it recommended I get tubes other than stock? I started questioning whether I should get the Little Dot I+ instead of the MK II so that I can also power my ATH-M50 or any future low impedance headphone but I'm thinking MK II might be better...- Royal2000H

Bang for buck headphone tube amp?
Hey guys - I decided I want to dip a toe into tube amps. I'm used to my O2 + ODAC combo, so I figure I might shake that up a bit and try a tube amp (+ ODAC). I'm not looking to spend a lot of money as I doubt the tube amp will be my main source. For reference, my go-to headphones are my Senn...- Royal2000H

Sports IEM/headphone
Hey, I just saw the Klipsch a5i Sport go on goldbox deal for $50 on Amazon, so I figured I'd ask before I bite the bullet because I didn't see many reviews for it. I'm looking for a sports headphone, like for running. Requirements 1. Should not fall out of ear!!! 2. Cable...- Royal2000H

O2+ODAC -or- Little Dot -or- FiiO E9 -or- DragonFly
The reason I'm doing this upgrade now too is because I'm buying the 880, 990, and the 650 and want to make sure the headphones are getting to their (somewhat) full potential before I decide which ones to return. It seems pretty unanimous through the threads that the o2 or magni are better than...- Royal2000H

Either going to get the HD650 or a DT880/DT990. Currently, I have an E7 which has been fine on my M50, but from what I understand - these upgraded headphones are going to require more. I'm mainly going to play off my computer. I can get the E09K for $110 and plug my E7 into that. ...- Royal2000H

E7 + E9 or other?
Thank you for your response Mooses9. I may in fact go with the o2+odac - it's a shame that would cost me ~3 times more than the E09k. If I didn't have the E7 already, the difference wouldn't be that great. Should I consider anything else? My friend recommended the Little Dot i+- Royal2000H

Ok so my research added 2 more options. O2+ODAC combo (jds labs) Audioquest DragonFly It sounds like the O2+ODAC may be the way to go... but recommendations for those that I saw were a little older, so perhaps now there's a "better forerunner" The DragonFly seems to be all...- Royal2000H

E7 + E9 or other?
I currently have a FiiO E7 which I use as a DAC+Amp for my Audio-Technica M50's (even though an amp isn't really necessary on them). I'm about to get a better pair of headphones and likely land on a DT 880 (250 ohm), DT 990 (250ohm), or HD 650. From what I understand my E7 won't be...- Royal2000H

Android phones and USB DACs
With all the threads it seems like some people do and don't have USB DAC working on the Galaxy Nexus. Very unclear. So can I use my FiiO E7 with my Galaxy Nexus? I'm rooted and running AOKP. Yea, so I probably lean to the 650 since I tend to prefer lively stuff. I just don't think I'll be able to do used. I'm simply not experienced enough to be able to be confident in my purchase and whether the headphones are performing at their peak. So basically, you're saying I'm likely...- Royal2000H

AD900x vs HD 598 vs DT 880 Pro Mainly for home in a quiet room, so open is great. Electronic, rock/alt, classical, hip hop, rap. I'm not a basshead but I like a reasonable bass. I want a lively/fun headphone, doesn't have to be perfectly accurate. Would like nice soundstage/imaging.- Royal2000H
