This is kinda unfair tho .. only 40 usd difference. The initial post sounded like an awesome offer, I feel conned   I assumed that the price after Sept 1 wud be 450 usd without the RE262's.  I would have preferred to wait for reviews had I known this to be the case.

I would suggest you use mp3fs   http://mp3fs.sourceforge.net/   It basically converts your flac collection to mp3 (any bitrate u set) on the fly while copying.  Check out the link for more info, its pretty cool.

Preorder the HifiMan 602   You'll be getting a RE262 IEM and a very very good player for 369 usd. You could sell the IEM on the forums (should be worth atleast a 100 bucks), so a net cost of 269 usd.

Considering that it has only 16 gb onboard (expandable to 48gb if you dont want to carry around multiple cards), I would need to have most of my music in mp3 320 kbps. I could rip a few of my favorite albums in flac, but most would be in mp3.   How does the mp3 playback of HM 801 / 602...
