In my country, the C751 are 280$ and the C710 are 200$. So, it's a 80$ difference. Is it worth it?- bogdan03ady

System Fidelity catalogue
Hi, sorry if there is another thread about this producer, but I didn't find anything. It's kinda odd, because I see that they have extremely reasonable prices. Here is the website: Welcome to System Fidelity Their catalogue contains mainly speakers and stereo equipment like CD players, Tuners...- bogdan03ady

Notebook for Multimedia Entertainment
Hi head-fi'ers! As said in the title, I want a good laptop for Music and Movies. Games are an option too, but I don't really need a super-fast GPU. It has to have a lot of I/O ports ( HDMI, USB, etc) and be at least 15 inches. I found this ASUS. What do you think? If you have other solutions...- bogdan03ady

Desktop Linux
Hi all. Disgusted, angry and nervous Windows user here. XP was good, then it came Vista which was awful and now 7 which claims to have been solved previous problems, presenting itself like an XP with Vista super-sexy ( gay) interface. I been using it for 4 days and I really hate it ( BSOD...- bogdan03ady

Windows 7?
It depends on the hardware you got. I have a Creative Audigy SE at the moment and driver support sucks, it's so limited. However you can use dual boot ( Xp and 7 or Vista and 7) and test which satisfies your needs. Good Luck!- bogdan03ady

Ripping CDs confusion
Thanks everyone for your replies. I will use only ALAC and AAC. I find iTunes really great, but I will try Media Monkey too and see if I consider it better. For whatever reasons I can't access the jriver site... 3hours+ edit: guys, i think i'm doomed to not listen to high quality music...- bogdan03ady

Ripping CDs confusion
Hi head-fi'ers I have a lot of retail CD's and it's quite difficult to keep inserting and ejecting them in my DVD drive so I want to start making a library. Having an iPod I want to use iTunes to keep them organised, with album covers and all that nice stuff So, I need some advices on how to...- bogdan03ady

Asus Xonar D1 vs. Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI
Xonar D1 ALL THE WAY! The X-fi Xtreme Audio is not EVEN an X-fi, having the CA0106 audio chip used on the Audigy SE. In fact, the Audigy SE moded drivers to X-fi is now a legend, having Daniel_K on top of it So, as I said, Xonar is your card. Good luck!- bogdan03ady

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
I was confused too, from one of your posts I misunderstood that you own the STX and that you can connect it to the H6. However, there's no problem, don't worry. Happily the sound with the ST is even better or at least that's what I heard. Sadly, the card isn't available in stock in my country...- bogdan03ady

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Whoa, whoa, wait a little. The Essence STX can't be connected with a H6 card, I need the PCI version of the Essence, the ST without the X from Pci-Express. ^That's what I understood by reading the thread about the Essence ST here on the forum and in the link you gave me with the H6 expansion...- bogdan03ady

Nope, I didn't use any X-fi software tweaks, only in-game EAX settings. However, I didn't pretend I'm an expert, I just stated my opinion. Cheers- bogdan03ady

Well I stick to that. Hearing how a pair of AKGs 701 "cracked" and distorted the sound in every fps I tested made me yo not recommend audiophile headphones for gaming.- bogdan03ady

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
^Done What I understood: It's the best card for music within its price range and I really don't know which other could be better for music listening( not producing). I think I'll buy the HDAV too, so I have both plus the H6 extension card.- bogdan03ady

CounterStrike 1.6 headset/soundcard?:D
Ok, let's see. Razer and Steelseries are famous for producing the best gaming gear. Their headsets( so, headphones + mic, you need mic, the audiophile's headphones like the ones recommended here don't have that; however that's not what makes a true gaming headset) are specially made for gaming...- bogdan03ady
