The Hyland Headphones Saturn One, Saturn Two and Jupiter One thread
I'm a little drunk on a Wednesday, but I'm honestly most excited about laying down and being able to put on my Saturn Ones. As someone who has owned the HD650 multiple times and never could quite get into their sound, these are exactly what I was looking for. Fantastic Soundstage, extremely...- beyondthepale35

Well got an unexpected package today! Shipping was much quicker than I thought, here's a few hastily taken photos with a definitely too shallow depth of field. Time for some actual listening...- beyondthepale35

I'll keep that in mind. I tend to listen to my music fairly loud, but also know my ears need some TLC haha. As long as they don't die after a year like my Elears...- beyondthepale35

I'm not surprised, the Darkvoice's design is definitely meant for high impedance headphones. It struggles to deliver current to lower impedance phones like the Saturns. It's possible these cans have lower sensitivity and that's why there's a difference between your other cans.- beyondthepale35

The Hyland Headphones Saturn One, Saturn Two and Jupiter One thread
Yeah, I enjoy having that space, but only to a certain degree. I found myself too many times drifting off following some random bass line or something in the HD800 instead of actually listening to the song haha, guess my ADD doesn't help. I'll let you know how it sounds with my CTH once I get...- beyondthepale35

The Hyland Headphones Saturn One, Saturn Two and Jupiter One thread
Thats good to hear, I didn't want something extreme like the TH900s in terms of profile, just slightly more exciting in the bass and treble. I used to own HD800s so I'm glad its not that spacious, sometimes the soundstage took me completely out of the song on those. Hopefully they sound halfway...- beyondthepale35

Well looks like I got the last pre-order...wanted to get myself a little gift for a job promotion and came across this thread. Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
That she is, a noticeable improvement from my Polaris, and a great pairing with Focals. Crystal clear and perfectly silent, and since the Elears aren't hard at all to drive it gets plenty loud for me. I'll add my picture of the Utopias little brother...someday I'll get there!- beyondthepale35

Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
Bought one of these for my Elears, I hope all the good reviews are warranted. Figure it will be a great pair considering the Elears are pretty efficient.- beyondthepale35

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
The SR80s are what got me into audiophile land. Still love the way Grados do guitar. But theElears are just another level, especially since I got my mimby. They just sound like music should be heard.- beyondthepale35

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
That's what I plan on doing. I was tempted to sell my Elear, but I think I'm going to give it a few weeks. I love the sound, but unfortunately I'm always way too curious about other headphones. I'm going from a pre 4490 modi uber, so I'm sure it will be a solid improvement. Just think a 1000...- beyondthepale35

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
Haha, I had to do the same when I told my girlfriend I just dropped a grand on the Elears...but then I just ended up buying her a pair of Louboutins, so now she can't yell at me for my silly hobby. I think she'll be more confused when I upgrade my amp and DAC.- beyondthepale35

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
I've had my pair of Elears for a couple weeks, coming from HD650s and T1 first gens. They're absolutely wonderful. The clarity is definitely a step above the 650s, some albums that sounded downright muddy on my Senns are completely fabulous on the Elears (D'Angelos Black Messiah comes to mind)...- beyondthepale35

New from Garage1217, the solid-state Project Polaris!
Just caved in and bought a Polaris for my T1s. I would've gone Horizon but I don't want to deal with tubes since I'm weak and will end up spending more money than I need to on them. I've seen good things about the Polaris and lower model Beyers, has anyone used the combo before?- beyondthepale35

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Yeah, I've had an assortment of mi-fi headphones and these are definitely a pretty big leap above. First time in awhile I've been blown away listening to a few albums I've heard a million times. The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Just wanted to join the T1 family. Found a used pair on Audigon that I won in an auction for 450, hard to beat. First pair of Beyerdynamics, I'm not having any issue with the treble presentation at all, but I feel I lean more towards brighter cans to begin with. HD650s were a little too relaxed...- beyondthepale35
