REVIEW: Comparison of 5 High End Digital Music Servers - Aurender N10, CAD CAT server, TotalDac d1-Server, Auralic Aries, Audiophile Vortex Box
I have no doubt that the Cambridge cd player works great. Cambridge audio has their own "S3" servo mechanism to get the most out of the cd. The CXC transport could be great for the price. I haven`t heard it though. Dedicated cd transport with S3 servo + remote under 500 euros. And i like the...- n-a

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Hi Jason. First i have to say i have bought the Schiit Wyrd and Schiit Vali. I like both of them. I had the Theta Gen V-A also and it was awesome dac, wonderful 3D sound with hint of warmth. So about the warmth... I believe you have made the Yggdrasil to produce the signal as truthfully...- n-a

Thoughts on a bunch of DACs (and why delta-sigma kinda sucks, just to get you to think about stuff)
Thank you Mike for that post. I think it explains Schiit:s marketing philosophy very well. One of the best D-S chip with good engineering + upgradeability. What is the problem people? Look at the prices, you can be very sure that this company is not screwing you, when talking about PRICE /...- n-a

Thoughts on a bunch of DACs (and why delta-sigma kinda sucks, just to get you to think about stuff)
Hi. I believe the Theta ds Basic II was designed with lower power DSP, and with op-amps in the output stage. Just thinking what could explain the imaging and not achieving the superior 3D effect that i have heard in my previous dac, Theta gen V-a. I have also had the Audio-gd Reference-7 and...- n-a

Best DAC under 150 (Help!/Updated)
No problems, i have allways tried to find the best bang for the buck audio gear. There is just so much of them that it needs a lot of digging and trying. I have had ES9023 based usb dacs and to me they sounded mechanical, flat and cold. I haven't heard the new V.2 Dragonfly. That could be good...- n-a

Best DAC under 150 (Help!/Updated)
Well... It is the beauty of simplicity of that random dac from eBay. It uses CM108 Usb receiver chip that acts like high and low pass filter allready, and that is needed for the Philips TDA1543 chips. I don't mind if its called "Douk-audio" or "Random-audio" or whatever ;) It is the first...- n-a

Mini Dac TDA1543 X 4 NOS
Hi Walfredo. I have that same, but as dac only. If you want full performance out of it, use the Schiit Wyrd. I have that combo, and i am just very happy with the sound. I have had the Theta Gen V-a so my reference is pretty high, but that said this little combo beats many cd-payers up to...- n-a

Thoughts on a bunch of DACs (and why delta-sigma kinda sucks, just to get you to think about stuff)
Hi Negura. I did use my Theta Gen V-a with my Audio-gd Precision 2 without problems. I powered up the source, amp, dac in random order. I am no EE but isnt the amplifier closed circuit? So the signal goes from + to - ? The switches in V goes easily from off to on, and the power supply is...- n-a

Who is thinking of buying the Schiit Yggdrasil?
"I have paid quite a lot of attention to DAC design discussions, but I've learned enough that I know that I don't actually know what's important. Yggy seems to measure well by INL standards, so I'm happy to pay for that. I'm not at all convinced that 'closed form' time domain filters matter at...- n-a

Who is thinking of buying the Schiit Yggdrasil?
To Maxx134: "The ability to be: 1-rich 2-liquid 3-delicate in sound 4-musical Are things not inherent in SS amps." I have tried many amps (mainly with loudspeakers) and i did find the Bada 3.8 be very good. It has tube pre-section and solid-state power section. But the one i like...- n-a

Audio GD Precision 2 Speaker / Headphone Amplifier
Great review Dan. I like my Precision 2 also. I have gone thru the older C39 / C10 / Ref7 route and always felt that the it was too "cold" for me. There is also many other "cold" devices out there that gives you the details, but doesn't have "soul", i have got those also. I have got tube...- n-a
