Which Subaru WRX STi is best?
I must be lucky because my hawkeye still have zero problems. From what I've heard so far, all the rumors say the BRZ STi will not have turbo.- choka

Which Subaru WRX STi is best?
I have a 07 WRX and I agree with what alv4426 has to say. I won't buy a used one, knowing how I drive it, and how most people drive these cars. That being said, it's been 6 years and I have zero major issues with mine so far, so obviously I drive like a grandma.- choka

The NIKON Thread (Talk About Nikon Stuff here)
I really wonder if you want to buy a bundle because I still see a lot of junk in that b&h bundle. The only useful stuff there is the SD card and the filter, and (arguably) the spare battery. (for me, personally, i would only use the nikon battery) How much is it cheaper than buying them...- choka

Did you look at B&H, adorama, buydig, etc? Do you want everything included in that bundle? IMO the WiFi adapter is useless. You might be better off buying what you need individually instead of buying them as a bundle? If I were you, I'd get a D3200 with the kit lens and a fast prime...- choka

Sigh. Yet another discussion about Ken? Sigh... so here's my 2 cents again. My advice is that you should NEVER read kenrockwell. I do not think he has a deep understanding of the craft of photography and has a lot of false information which he think he's right in his dreams. For the...- choka

What do you shoot? Why is 1/200 sync speed vs 1/250 a deal breaker for you? You try to overpower the sun all the time? Are you sure you absolutely need 1/8000 shutter speed instead of 1/4000?- choka

why not get a d600? it's much cheaper than a d800, it has a similar body to that of a d7000, which is much lighter than d200. it's full frame, with all the modern features. with a pro lens like 24-70 attached, it might not weight much more than a d200 with a 18-55.- choka

The NIKON Thread (Talk About Nikon Stuff here)
the 18-55 is a consumer lens with variable aperture. The 24-70 is a pro lens with constant 2.8 aperture and much better weather sealed. It is not an equivalent to 18-55 DX- choka

Quote: You mean d200 without battery VS d800 with battery? :P From everything I read online, the difference in weight between the 2, with battery, is just around 20 grams or so. (d800 is 900g with battery, while d200 is 920g with battery) I actually have both of them and they feel...- choka

URGENT!!! AKG k702 vs k701
The only difference is really the color and the detachable cable. The cable won't make much difference to your father, so just buy it based on price and color preference.- choka

Canon 50mm f/1.2 L, talk me out of it.
Congrats! But for the Sigma, carefully check for focal shift problems. My friend's 1st one had front focusing problem and he had to exchange it. I also tried a copy that would very occasionally stop auto-focusing andI had to unmount and remount the lens. So... watch out for that as well. If you...- choka

Canon 50mm f/1.2 L, talk me out of it.
I am pretty sure the Sigma is sharper than both Canon 50/1.4 and Nikon 50/1.4G wide open. Sigma also has slightly smoother bokeh @ 1.4. If you plan to use the 50 as a portrait lens and can't afford the Canon 50/1.2, Sigma 50/1.4 is the way to go. I know the Nikon 50/1.4G is slightly sharper...- choka

Camera Bag-Fi
I use a Lowepro top loading bag in combination with their lens cases attached when I am shooting. The bag and lens cases will carry lenses I am going to use at the moment. Quote: Not true. Yes, it depends on your shooting style, but for a lot of people, wide open is all they use to shoot. For portraits, I use most of my lenses wide open. I only stop down when the background matters a lot, or when i am shooting landscape. AF speed and accuracy is all...- choka
