USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best
I finally found a way to use my Meridian Explorer with the usb c interface of my Galaxy note 10. Using the HiByMusic app It correctly detects the Meridian Explorer, has many volume steps, and it even manages hires files, see the three leds showing a 192khz file. The sound with a Grado Ps500e is...- capitanharlock

Meridian Explorer² Impressions Thread
I succeeded in using the Meridian explorer (v1) with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10, via Usb C and and otg cable, and it's working fine, but only with a couple of app: Onkyo and Teac hires player. If I use any other app (i.e. poweramp) the output level is far too low. I tried to modify all the...- capitanharlock

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
I guess that a cable that costs several hundred bucks has to PERFECTLY fit to the Z7 (i.e.have the threaded connection)...- capitanharlock

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
You may be totally right. In fact the Ps500e are not lacking any bass, quite the contrary. When I bought the Grados I was thinking to buy an Audiotechnica Ath-w1000x (I was intrigued by the wood, you know...), then I listened to the Ps-500e and I immediately liked them. In anyway the...- capitanharlock

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
The Z7 finally arrived, and I had a very quick listening of my favorite music (mostly rock). The following are highly subjective impressions, I am not a pro reviewer neither I had the time to make a critical listening. I used Itunes via a Dell Pc, connected via usb to a Teac Ha-P50, set on...- capitanharlock

Official Ipod Video / Classic 5g+5.5g+6g+6.5g+7g SSD Mod thread
Thanks for your help. Actually the 55k file limit wouldn't be a problem, since I have only alac files encoded from cds. Very welcomed would be having 480MB, that's why I tought to the Crucial, a 512MB cf it's way too expensive. It's a real pity opening the brand new 160GB classic, so in your...- capitanharlock

Hi, I just bought a brand new Classic 160 GB (model Mc293QL/A), and I was thinking about modifying it with a crucial m480. The goal is keeping Apple OS, so I was asking if it would be possible and if you have any experience or hints about...- capitanharlock

DENON DA-10 DSD - New portable DAC/Headphone AMP
I am not saying this, it depends on your listening habits. Just saying it's not very powerful and seeing that the Audeze is rating at: > 130dB with 15W maybe you would need something more "beefy"...- capitanharlock
