I have a Cakewalk FA-66 FW audio interface, Do I need a headphone amp for my HD650s?
Hi Perplex1 and Danz03, I came across this thread when I was doing my research on the Roland Quad-Capture UA-55. It seems to me that a pro/semi-pro audio interface is such a good value when compared to audiophile oriented DACs. I have a couple of questions: - have you experienced any...- elitiste

Fed up with iTunes, can any body offer salvation for my iPod Classic 6th Gen?
Quote: Quote: Thanks guys. Really appreciated your help. I just synced my iPod Classic 6G using Foobar2000. It worked like a charm. I really liked the fact that it converts FLAC and APE files into m4a files. Thanks so much!- elitiste

Any updates guys? I've heard the K518DJ and ATH-SJ3 and SJ5 now. Both a bit unsatisfying in SQ. I wonder if there is anything better.- elitiste

Fed up with iTunes, can any body offer salvation for my iPod Classic 6th Gen?
Hi all, I have really had it with iTunes. As many have said, it really is just a front to sell music. I am really sick and tired of this piece of software from "Applesoft" who is always trying to strategically dominate how I play, store and buy my music. I have a 160GB 6th Gen iPod Classic...- elitiste

What portable media players can play APE, FLAC files?
It's just too bad that the storage capacity of the D2+ is a bit small. The 120GB offered by the iPod Classic is really tempting. But it's certainly worth looking into though given its popularity here. Thanks all!- elitiste

Do thick copper headphone cables really matter?
Wow, unanimous opinion thus far. I was expecting some people ruling for thicker cables... Well, that's good to know. No wonder AKG only uses 99.99% OFC on its top of the line phones.- elitiste

About to buy ATH-M50. Any other cans I should look at?
Thanks for all your suggestions and help. I just bought the M50s. Will try to report my experience after burn-in. At the end, while the Ultrasones looked very impressive, the M50s are only 1/6 of the price compared to the PRO 900s. I cannot wait to see my new phones.- elitiste

Do thick copper headphone cables really matter?
I would like to solicit your opinion regarding whether the thickness of copper headphone cables really matter to SQ. (I cannot afford a silver cable upgrade, nor can I afford the ultra-pure OCC types. I understand that for speakers wires, heavier wires matter up to a certain point.) Here is...- elitiste

Monitor recommendations for under $1000
I've been thinking about the Focal SM6 series myself but they are out of your price range. Given your limit of $1,000, I think the Dynaudio BM5A are very good. -

About to buy ATH-M50. Any other cans I should look at?
Thanks for the cautionary words. I think you are the second person who mentioned that the M50s are "narrow" or trying to squeeze the sound. I wonder how they'd compare to a set of studio headphones like the K702/701 whose signature I like. I'm currently also exploring the Ultrasone range of...- elitiste

ATH-M50 compared to HFI 780 Ultrasone anyone?
I happened to come across this thread. I am also considering the M50s and the HFI-780s. I haven't heard either. How would you describe their respective SQ? BTW, how much are the HFI-780s? They are quite a bit more expensive than the M50s. I wonder if the price delta is justified.- elitiste
