Review by 'marcusgi' on item 'Skullcandy Hesh 2.0 Wireless'
I needed some wireless headphones to go walking with, these are great for that. Not walking where you sweat, but just a casual walk around the park. They feel like pillows. The pads are what make this phone 200 times better than the Hesh 2 wired. Got them on sale at Best Buy for $79.99. No they...- marcusgi

Audio-Technica ATH-A900X: Impressions, Reviews, Mods, etc.
yeahman68 and others wondering if the A900x need an amp, After listening to M-50's for a couple of years with an Fiio E-11 amp, I began to really analyze the sound signature and started to turn down the volume and bass. I guess I am starting to become more an audiophile where I want to...- marcusgi

Sony ZX600 earpads
Hello, Has anyone found any more comfortable pads then the pleather ones that currently come on these HP's? A cloth or velour might be better. Thanks!- marcusgi

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
For those of you with a big head like mine, just put the wing support on a bent pillow for a few hours and wow, the hard clamp is gone. whew, I thought I was going to have to return them. If they get a little too loose, which mine did NOT, you can bend them back carefully or use the shoestring...- marcusgi

Audio-Technica ATH-A900X: Impressions, Reviews, Mods, etc.
First of all, tseliottt thanks for the shoe string mod. makes them fit perfect. I have both A900X and M50. Each is really great for different things, they compliment each other. A900X: worn at home on the PC and amp. Soundstage is great, midrange pronounced, where you can hear all...- marcusgi

Want to try GRADO, any views on model to get?
I know that you said you didn't want to spend a fortune, but there was a big difference in SR60i/SR80i and the SR225i. There should be, they are double the price. If you really love the bright sparkly music that Grado's produce, you love the SR225i's, IMO. It might just be a justification to...- marcusgi

Best comfort headphone
I have ATH-M50, love the sound. But when it's hot or I want to wear a HP that just feels like nothing, I put on my Grado SR225i's. They are a little brighter, but that is fixed with a little eq or amp. If you wash the bowls in detergent and bend the headband perfectly, they are super comfy...- marcusgi

Nose's Grado Post Mod w/ Shaft Collar and Rubber O Ring
I know it is 3-4 years later, but this is still a great little mod. I got 2 1/8" shaft collars and 50 O rings off of ebay for about $15 total (delivered to the house). The collars are black so they look really slick on my SR-80's. The rods were getting really loose and tangling the cord...- marcusgi

Audio-Technica ATH-M50's
I would really think it would be hard to break M50's, they are built solid. They have survived dropping, ran over with computer chair. I have a large head, so I have to really stretch them out (bend them). I used the box they came with overnight and they are super comfy. I needed a closed phone...- marcusgi

Audio-Technica ATH-M50's
SONY MDR-XB50 felt like mushy marshmallows. Sounded pretty muddy personally. I have recently got 2 pair of M50's and a Fiio E11 Amp. However, I have to be honest, it all depends on your source. :-)- marcusgi

ATH M50 Amping
ATH M50 is a good headphone without an amp, but as B-Dawk20 said, if you use an amp, it can save your battery life on the player. I personally love the E-11 (about $60) with my mp3 player. It rubberbands to it and just balances out the good stuff, takes away the harshness. The reason I prefer...- marcusgi

FiiO E11 & E11K & A3 Information + Support
So, I measured my old battery and low and behold it was around 4.5-4.6 volts too. All of this was not the batteries, it was the contacts in the E-11. I took a pair of tweezer and pulled on the contacts a little and now all the batteries work. Just thought I would share with others that might...- marcusgi

FiiO E11 & E11K & A3 Information + Support
ClieOS, Thanks for your quick response, I have a 2nd (different brand) battery on order, that has worked since I ordered the E11. Works like a champ. http://www.ebay.com/itm/110676898902 I wonder how long it would take the Feipusi BL-5B battery to drain from 4.6 to 4.0 volts...- marcusgi

ClieOS, I got these batteries on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180728266763 Charged them up and put in the E11, wont turn on. I used my volt meter and they are running about 4.6 volts. I noticed in your original post: It has an internal protection...- marcusgi

SR80 versus SR225i
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am just saying that if I knew the SR225i were considerably better than sr80's, I might have bought them instead. Comparing a $700 headphone to a $200 headphone is just not fair. Maybe I am not a hard core audiophile, I doubt I could ever appreciate phones...- marcusgi

SR80 versus SR225i
I have been torn the past year if I should cave into the upgradeitis and jump from my sr80's (non-i version) to a new pair of Sr225i's. Mostly because of all the comments from the Grado shrill and everyone saying that as you spend more money in the Grado line, you don't get the value. Well, I...- marcusgi

D2+?
Feteru, Just want to tell you that my SR80i's sound absolutely wonderful with the fiio E11. I don't know if you technically need them with the D2+ BBE, but I like the fact that I can keep the D2+ at half volume without an amp. The E11 adds the controlled bass I was looking for.- marcusgi

The Fiio E11 versus E6
In previous threads this has been answered. Will E6 beat the E11? No. But I want to know the details why. (maybe ClieOS could answer) Here are some advantages I already know about: 1. A removable/spare battery 2. More powerful: output of E11 could be 300mW where the E6 150mW. 3. The volume...- marcusgi

Need some extra advice/suggestions (Looking at Grado SR80i & more)
All music depends on the source. I have a decent sound card in my desktop (Asus Xonar D1 $80) so I really do not need the amp because it already comes with one, but it does make the Grado's shine. I like using E-11 with my computer because I used to have to turn it up half way 50/100, now I turn...- marcusgi

Need some extra advice/suggestions (Looking at Grado SR80i & more)
The E-11 comes with a Fiio rubberband to strap it to your mp3 player. It is the size of a credit card and about 3/4 inch think. A lot smaller than I thought. For $9.50 I got another battery and wall charger. The original battery last 12+ hours and the second battery lasts 15+ hours. If you order...- marcusgi

Need some extra advice/suggestions (Looking at Grado SR80i & more)
Hello. Just wanted to point out I got the E11 for the SR80's and all I can is wow, that was worth every bit of $70. I also have M-50. The Sr-80's sound just as good as them with the E-11, and the part I like the SR-80's are light and comfy instead or heavy and hot, being it has been 90...- marcusgi

Affordable amp for Grado SR60i
The E-11 makes my sr-80's sound better than my AT50's, imo. Love the fact the Grado's are so lightweight. The E-11 adds monster bass and controls the highs.- marcusgi
