    Anybody making a big headphone purchase this year?

    last year I spent about $570 (325is, Beresford TC-7520, glass optic cable). This year alone I spent around $3000. Im still looking into getting a benchmark dac1 and hopefully i'll be done for a while.

    ^ haha so true. The k1000 use to sound special to me until i got my 404LE. now it just sounds average at best. The k1000 also lacks intimacy compare to all my other headphones.     Thank you, I love STAX, 404LE for life! I think the 404LE may very well be the perfect headphone for me. I will get the sr-007 MK2 just so I can add it to my collection hehe.

    Stax SR-404 and amps - can I stop for at least a little while?

    I love my srd-p energizer, unlike all other stax energizer it takes RCA signals input instead of speaker wires which equal higher quality sounds. I use the fixed audio out on my beresford with pure silver rca. The sound is out of this world. I agree with catscratch the 404LE sounds signature...

    WOOOOOOOOWWW!!!!!!!! the 404LE is now officially my favorite headphones out of all my headphones. The sound is PERFECT! detail, clarity, speed, the best i've heard! I won't be purchasing another dynamic can ever again. 4070/Sr-007 here I come.
