Ok. Guess I'll pick me up another Clip. Quote: Originally Posted by average_joe Well, you asked for recommendations in a forum then complain about group-think? Go back and show me the "complaint" in my post. If the phrase "group think" offends you, another way to put it...

Sansa Clip died. Recommendations on small, inexpensive, gym-worthy player?

I'm honestly surprised you all zeroed in on the Sansa Clip so fast? We have a lot of Clip fans here? I'm a little concerned about group-think. Again, the main factors here are:Price. < $100 for sure. Ideally, < $50. Cheaper is better. Durability. This is where the Clip lost me. It broke in...

Sansa Clip died. Recommendations on small, inexpensive, gym-worthy player?

Meh. The whole "dying in one month" thing kind of turned me off. Plus the plastic clip and it's mount didn't look very reliable to me. There's nothing else around this price-range worth looking at?

Sansa Clip died. Recommendations on small, inexpensive, gym-worthy player?

I bought a Sansa Clip a few months ago on recommendations from this site and I liked it quite well. Unfortunately, it died on me recently. I was able to return it under Wal-Mart store policy, but it has been removed from all shelves in my immediate area. If I'm going to buy online, I'm...

Help me Choose some mid-end Gym Buds: Sennheiser CX 400/IIs, 380 IIs, NE-7ms, Z-buds or ???

Update: I've been wearing these for about a week now, and I gotta say that I really like them. It's all about the tip and forming a good seal, imo. Without a seal, they sound pretty rough. My first impression was "I paid $50 for these and the headset that came with my $50 MP3 player sounds...

Best non foam tips for the NE-7M?

Those are foam. He said non-foam. I'm interested in the same question, if others have thoughts on this.

Help me Choose some mid-end Gym Buds: Sennheiser CX 400/IIs, 380 IIs, NE-7ms, Z-buds or ???

Ok, that last one did it. NE-7ms ordered. If they suck I'm going to PM you all and talk crap. ;-)

Help me Choose some mid-end Gym Buds: Sennheiser CX 400/IIs, 380 IIs, NE-7ms, Z-buds or ???

Pretty sure I'm going with the NE-7s on this one. I've got cold feet about the Z-buds, despite the $16 difference.

Help me Choose some mid-end Gym Buds: Sennheiser CX 400/IIs, 380 IIs, NE-7ms, Z-buds or ???

Right...I know I've seen some. And when I used the search function, I didn't pull up anything useful. If you're going to post just to point something like that out, then a link to whatever you're talking about would be helpful. -S

Help me Choose some mid-end Gym Buds: Sennheiser CX 400/IIs, 380 IIs, NE-7ms, Z-buds or ???

Btw, what I'm really looking for here are user opinions (ie, I own these and I think X about them), links to good reviews, etc.

Help me Choose some mid-end Gym Buds: Sennheiser CX 400/IIs, 380 IIs, NE-7ms, Z-buds or ???

Originally, I was looking for a set of earphones with heavy emphasis on sport ability. I had settled on the Sennheiser MX80-line, and was trying to decide between the variant with a cam or the over-the-ear types. However, generally lackluster reviews of their sound quality, high prices, and...

Urgent: For working out and car-duty...anything I should look at besides iPod Nano?

First impressions of the clip: Impressive playback quality, even from their craptastic stock headphones. Looking forward to pairing these up with something good. I was definitely surprised to hear this kind of sound at this price-point. Ability to store podcasts is an unexpected bonus...

Urgent: For working out and car-duty...anything I should look at besides iPod Nano?

KaBoom: Good call on the Cowons. I'll check them out. None local, though, so I'd be purchasing either those or the iPods off the 'net. SDaRR: Just hit Wally World and snagged a "tester" Sansa. Gotta love their return policy. :-P. I'll check 'em out for a few days and then make a call on one...

Urgent: For working out and car-duty...anything I should look at besides iPod Nano?

I gotta admit, the new (3rd gen) iPod Shuffle would be right up my alley if they hadn't crippled its headphone selection. The new one is even smaller, now accepts playlists, comes with a clip, and is only $80 for 4gb. That's very attractive, imo. Putting some controls on the cord isn't a bad...

Urgent: For working out and car-duty...anything I should look at besides iPod Nano?

Asher: Yeah, I figured I'd have to convert them. Not really sure how to do that yet, but I downloaded AVS audio editor for another purpose a few days ago and I think it can convert for me. I'll look into that. And yes, I'd probably keep the stock OS on a portable music player. Budman: Good...

Urgent: For working out and car-duty...anything I should look at besides iPod Nano?

Hey folks. I think I'm pulling the trigger in 2 days on a new iPod Nano, but wanted to double-check my selection here. Is there anything else I should be considering? I know iPods in general are kind of "meh" as a source, but I can't think of anything else flash-based, off the top of my head...

Cheap (<$60) IEMs for the gym, jogging, etc.

Looking hard at those MX 80-85 options. Those might be a winner.

Cheap (<$60) IEMs for the gym, jogging, etc.

So its down to the NuForce NE-7m (~$50), the newer NE-8 (~$75), or the Sennheiser CX380s ($75). Final thoughts? Are the NE-8 or the Sennheiser really worth the price premium? And how does the sound on the Sennheisers compare? I'm having a really hard time finding much reviews on them other...

Cheap (<$60) IEMs for the gym, jogging, etc.

Thanks for the feedback, folks! I'm looking for isolation so I can keep the volume low. I'd rather exclude or reduce external sound than try to drown it out. I'll keep the NuForce NE-8s in mind, but I'm not convinced I'm going to want to pay that 40% premium over the NE-7s. Quote...

Cheap (<$60) IEMs for the gym, jogging, etc.

Oh man, I thought they killed off Froogle! I noticed I couldn't just type in, say, "Buy Sennheiser CX300" anymore and get a rundown. I thought that seemed kind of fishy. Like people got together and said "dude...you Google guys are making it too easy to price shop! Here's some cash, now knock it...
