Cayin iHA-6 - US Tour and reviews
They actually are quite similar. Differences are small, changes in the holographic music projection. The Burson Soloist 3xp has a larger soundstage and presence. The music hits harder and almost shakes you. I attribute the Soloist's ample power and wide bandwidth design. The Cayin iHA-6 has a...- audiophonicshz

Cayin iHA-6 - US Tour and reviews
Thanks Andy. I was able to get in contact with Final Audio in the US, and they sorted me out. Cayin and Final Audio have been amazing and very helpful sourcing a new iha-6. Burning it in right now! I sure missed its sound. So damn musical. Ohh the PRAT! Funny story, while waiting for the iha-6...- audiophonicshz

Singxer SA-1 / Balanced Amplifier Fully Discrete Class A - beyond THX 888 ?!
2hours or so? The hiss just slowly gets louder. Maybe dc offset buildup of some kind? I feel the same way. I drive Z1rs and they really come to life in a different way than my SA-1. The SA-1 is alittle underpowered. Deciding between the SA-1 and the Burson Soloist 3xp. The Cayin is a great amp.- audiophonicshz

Singxer SA-1 / Balanced Amplifier Fully Discrete Class A - beyond THX 888 ?!
Yea, many people say it’s just a volume difference but I tend to think that xlr is quieter, darker background. Dynamics is probably better as well.- audiophonicshz

Cayin iHA-6 - US Tour and reviews
I love my iha-6. I paired it with a Topping D70 and Z1Rs. Man the bass control is out of this world. Tons of PRAT. Recently the amp developed a scratchy right channel as some have also gotten. I bought it 2 years ago so I'm out of warranty. Where can I go to get the amp repaired? I haven't...- audiophonicshz

Singxer SA-1 / Balanced Amplifier Fully Discrete Class A - beyond THX 888 ?!
I have a iha-6. Its got a scratchy right channel but I'm pretty familiar with it. The Singxer sa-1 has a bigger soundstage, better female vocals/airyness. The iha-6 has a soundstage that is smaller but I would say PRAT is better on the iha-6. Also it has more power on tap, that much is...- audiophonicshz

Audiotechnica ATH-w3000 Aniversary or the w5000? Availability?
I'm trying out closed cans now after a long time enjoying my trusty hd800's. I've heard the m50Xs at my local store and I like the audiotechnica house sound. I've come across two that I really want to buy, the w3000 anv and the w5000. So my question is what are the differences (if any)...- audiophonicshz

Audio Technica ATH-CKW1000: Through the Ages
Thanks for the insights. I'm really thinking of trying these now. I feel the same way about the ex1000s treble at times. However, I do find the bass lacking at times. Hopefully the ckw1000 what the doctor ordered.- audiophonicshz

Audio Technica ATH-CKW1000: Through the Ages
I would like to know this as well. I find the ex1000's to have great soundstage, good bass ( get a good copy) nice instrument separation and detail retrieval. But I found the sound a bit cold and analytical. Just a tad mind you, they do sound fantastic with monster foam tips. How do the...- audiophonicshz

Practical Devices XM5
Hi, I have the 880's 250, with the 8065+buff634. It's a killer combo. You know the feeling when the music sounds so good you want to turn in up more, then a bit more, until you're listening at way more than normal. Yea, that's it. Bass is good, fairly tight. Miss and highs are very transparent...- audiophonicshz

Westone UM3X Thread
Wren, I usually start at 15 and then end up cranking it up to 20 because it sounds so good, that and think all the live rock wasn't too good for the ol ears. I agree with BBE not sounding great, while testing I switched to normal and now thing it sounds better, a flatter more natural sound...- audiophonicshz

Upgrading from CX300's, any recommendations?
I would say, stay away from the cx500s. I had the the cx400s and now have the cx500. I guess I can say they are worth the price if you get them for around 30 dollars. The bass is somewhat bloated, highs are very recessed, and its not a soundstage if it is between your ears. I've heard good...- audiophonicshz

Westone UM3X Thread
Just got in my pair of UM3Xs and I'm in audio heaven! I'm driving them with a Cowon S9 with BBE Viva at volume 20. The sound is amazing even without amping. I have done testing with the normal setting, no post processing. One thing that I have noticed with these phones is that the bass is...- audiophonicshz

Thoroughly enjoying my XM5 with the 634 buffers and Whitecat 8065. I've been hearing a lot about the LME49710. Are they better than the 8065s? Has anyone heard both? How are they different? I'm going to pair it with UMX3s so I have renewed interest!- audiophonicshz

Practical Devices XM5
I tried out using the pre outs from my receiver, but I can't find a way to shut off my speakers so I guess its pointless. So I just use the headphone jack, its not bad. Reason I bring this topic up is that I use a WD TV and I use that now to listen to flacs. One more note to everyone, I'm...- audiophonicshz

Thanks GreatDane, I hope I get the chips faster than the XM5, took a month! Yes I play flacs off my laptop and use the DAC. I realize the dac isnt the best, but it is better than my extigy. I finally got my XM5 after some waiting and I can say that it was worth the wait. The build quality left a bit to be desired, especially for the price, but I guess thats the case with most portable amps. I am speaking about the internals, as I immediately opened it up to check out the opamps...- audiophonicshz
