    Alternative cable for AKG K450/Q460

Thanks Vandaven!   It helps a lot to see the cable from a closer perspective, and to read your A-Bing opinion.   Is the cable sturdier than the original? You mentioned it being thicker, but is it well made?   And what is the approximate length of the cable?   Thanks!

    Superlux 668B mods questions

Hi fellow head-fi'ers !   I just got a pair ofSuperlux 668B.   I have a few questions regarding "light" modding for those: 1. What kind of ear pads can I use to replace the stock ones? (I've read about k240,k271, dt990 - can someone confirm or add more options?) 2. Taking the stock...

AKG Q460 anyone have experience with them?

Regarding comfort - I have an above average sized head (to say the least) and I find those headphones to be very comfortable (I like them more than my px100 comfort wise) the only gripe I have about their comfort is that over a long periods (let's say two hours of non stop listening) there is...

    Alternative cable for AKG K450/Q460

Hi, I've recently purchased an AKG q460 headphone. While  I am pleased with the purchase (I will post a brief review once I have some spare time), I am not pleased (to say the least) by it's cable. The cable is detachable, but the quality of the materials is questionable. Another point of...

What is the first steps on the long road of becoming a reviewer?

I, for once, don't mind asking if it means that I actually will get stuff for review. As you said - reviewing high grade equipment of your own costs a LOT of money.

What is the first steps on the long road of becoming a reviewer?

@cifani090 - Wow! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and thoughts - I really appreciate it!   In fact I was not looking to be a reviewer for a magazine like "Stereophile", but to do it as a hobby. The question is , I guess, how can I become known so that vendors would send...

What is the first steps on the long road of becoming a reviewer?

Hi, My question may seem a bit strange, and maybe to some the answer is clear - "Well you want to become a reviewer- start writing reviews" - and I totally agree with that statement. But - I would appreciate if any of the well known reviewers here on head-fi would share his/her personal...

Closed portables for under a 100$

Thank you for the advice - I've read great reviews about the m50. However their price in my country is almost 250$ (don't ask me why). And ordering them from amazon incl. shipping and vat. will be almost 200$.   Any other great headphones for 100$?

Closed portables for under a 100$

Hi, I am looking for to improve my portable listening expirience. I initialy bought the senn's px100, and while I am very pleased with the sound, I find them absolutely useless outside - the isolation is non-existent.   That is the primary reason I got my brainwavz m1 in ears - to get...

What method do you use to burn-in your in-ears?

Thanks for the replies! I started the burn in with an application I've downloaded for the ipod touch. - HP burn in.  - it playes pink/white noise, and other sequences in a loop. Did that for something like 30 hrs. After that played all my songs on a shuffle for another 70 hrs.

What method do you use to burn-in your in-ears?

Thanks for the great input! I am using the double flanged silicone tips, but they irritate my ear canal. The Olives are more comfortable, but sound too warm for my liking. I'll give them to run 50 hrs more - will see what happens. Thanks for the advices!

What method do you use to burn-in your in-ears?

I know that. That's exactly why it is a problem for me- I am expecting the track to sound in a way I got used to hear it with the px-100. I know it can't be compared, it just makes the difference that more contrasty.

What method do you use to burn-in your in-ears?

@henrylee-  I too find the double flanged to be the best tips for me - they less comfy than the foamies - but deliver a bit punchier bass. The pl-30 do sound ambitious and lacking in some parts, but I think they're good for the price. Had the jbl 220's before that cost twice as much - don't...

What method do you use to burn-in your in-ears?

@tyrel,@henrylee - I see you're  owners of the pl30's- those are the earphones in question. I feel that the mids are quite muddy and the highs are recessed, the bass lack a definition as well - will those issues go away with the burn-in? What are your impressions about your pl30's, and after...

What method do you use to burn-in your in-ears?

Hi dear Head-Fi'ers!   I am curios to know, what tracks do you use for the burn-in, for how long, do you include silence in your burn-in playlist, do you use different tracks in order to improve the highs/mids/lows?   Share your precious knowledge and experience!

    Upgrade from iPod earbuds

Go for the JBL Reference 220 - much better SQ than the CX300. Search for them in the forum. I bought them and enjoy every second of listening on my iPod touch 2g.
