Though i would recommend you pick the W1000 to be good with your music types... they have a huge different sound characteristic . Just make decision with your ears if you can. btw, gonna have an amp or already have one?- oScARSr

what would be a nice change from an ATH-A900?
AKG K501 (or you can wait for 601 or 701) Very different taste from A900, an extremely smooth and stress-free sound. though it needs an amp to drive.- oScARSr

Hmmmm , I've owned AD1000. Its sound is less bass, gentle midrange and vocal, bright highs and treble, solid sound. I think its suited with Tube's source.- oScARSr

For new L3000’s owners !
Yes, burn-in would give a big diffecence exactly... but i cant tell whether it is "better" or not... my past AD1000 is getting bright and uneasy to listen after thousands of hours burn-in....- oScARSr

Shure E2C vs Sony Fontopia EX51
I have owned both. ex71(51) has "heavier bass" and "better comfort" but that is all.... it sounds so muddy and the vocal is dry and boring, treble is sharp and harsh. e2c has much more balanced sound , much more detail , much more clear and full midrange vocal.- oScARSr
