Byerdynamic DT880 - 250 ohms or 600 ohms with my amp?

No, sorry I should have said... The Matrix is plugged in using the RCA inputs from a Rega Mira 3 integrated amplifier. Sources are Rega RP6 turntable and Rega Apollo CD player (and a Denon cassette deck and A&R T21 tuner). I've taken the (relatively small) plunge and ordered a used set of 600...

Byerdynamic DT880 - 250 ohms or 600 ohms with my amp?

It is, yes. I'm not sure about the DAC with the Lyr 2; I'll need to check (I have no use for a DAC input)

Beyerdynaic DT880 250 ohms or 600 ohms with my amp?

The tile should of course have read Beyerdynamic… (fat fingers...)

Beyerdynaic DT880 250 ohms or 600 ohms with my amp?

I posted this in the wrong place and whilst I did get a couple of replies, I figured it might get more traffic here... Mods, please delete my earlier thread (in Headphones Full Size): Hi all. I 'think' I need to add a set of these to my collection... I currently use a first generation Matrix...

Byerdynamic DT880 - 250 ohms or 600 ohms with my amp?

Sorry… I've just realised that this should have been a thread in the 'help' forum (I'm new here...) Mods, please feel free to move this. Sorry once again.

Byerdynamic DT880 - 250 ohms or 600 ohms with my amp?

Thanks both. So... is the consensus that the 600 ohm version would be unnecessary/incompatible with my amplifier? Any thoughts on my M-Stage vs Lyr2 query?

Byerdynamic DT880 - 250 ohms or 600 ohms with my amp?

Hi all. I 'think' I need to add a set of these to my collection... I currently use a first generation Matrix Audio M-Stage as my headphone amp and I wondered if anyone here had any opinion as to whether it has sufficient clout to successfully drive the 600 ohm version or would I be better with...

Reply to review by 'moomaloo' on item 'Matrix M-Stage'

Hi Peter. I don't know if you are still monitoring your great review but, if you are, can you please tell me (as a total electronics novice) why there are two l.e.d.s in the circuit board...? I'm asking becUse I've recently acquired one of these little beauties (love it!) and noticed an orange...

Beyer 'Manufaktur' 770 600 Ohm - Can they be adjusted...

I just fancied keeping them to use with computers / TV and maybe 'regular' integrated headphone socket (if whatever I replace my main audio system with has one - it'll be a low-cost 'one box' solution whatever...)   I've just put them on eBay but I can easily pull my listing if you think...

Beyer 'Manufaktur' 770 600 Ohm - Can they be adjusted...

...back down to a 'normal' impedance for regular listening on all sorts of sundry devices?   I'm guessing the answer is "no" in which case life sucks! Mine are still under warranty and (due to circumstances largely beyond my control) I've used them for no more than 4 hours tops. I'm now...

the best sounding live albums you know

For superb sound quality, try 'Minimum Maximum' by Kraftwerk. Absolutely astonishing! Lesser sound quality but still great and a fantastic live album: 'It's Too Late To Stop Now' by Van Morrison. Any old copy sounds great but the recent remastered version (particularly the Japanese SHM...

    Beatles 'Blue Box' - Original?

Hi all. I don't know if anyone can shine any light on this but it's been puzzling me for years: I have a lovely mint UK edition of the 'Blue Box' LP box set (EMI BC13) - The complete run of UK albums plus the Rareties LP which was only released with this set. This set comes in the blue box...

Naim Headline 2 and 600 ohms Beyers - Has anyone actually tried this combination?

What on earth are you talking about?! Why exactly is the DT770 the opposite of what Naim stands for? IMO it's a very good closed headphone for sensible money. What does Naim 'stand for' if it's not an enjoyment of music? I can see no reason why the combination shouldn't be a rewarding one...

Naim Headline 2 and 600 ohms Beyers - Has anyone actually tried this combination?

I have a Headline 2 and am looking (I think) to buy a set of customised 600 ohm DT770's. According to the Headline specs I should have no problem driving 600 ohms but can anyone here actually report that the combination is a good match? Thanks!

Right! Here's my shortlist. Please help me make the decision.

The Senns (600 and 650) are both open. I'm looking for closed 'phones. No recommendations for the Beyers at all..? As far as listening goes, it's mainly 70's classic rock, prog plus folk rock, some jazz, Bowie, Dylan, Joni etc...

Right! Here's my shortlist. Please help me make the decision.

Hi all, Following help here and probably too much research I've finally narrowed down my search for closed 'phones. I intend listening via a Naim Headline 2 and my shortlist is (cue drum-roll)... 1. Beyerdynamic DT770 Premium - Customised via their 'Manufaktur' service - approx cost...

    Newbie seeks closed phones help...

Thanks for the advice. As for my kit, I'd added that to my profile and thought (wrongly) the info would be pulled through. In a word... Naim Naim Headline 2 / Napsc 2 'phones amp. Naim CDX / XPS CD player / power supply. Naim NAC102 pre-amp / NAC180 power amp / Flatcap power supply. I...

Hi all. Great site. Having just sold my beloved but almost totally unused RS1's on eBay to a buyer who turns out to be a forum member here I thought I'd check out the site. Looks like I might stick around for a while...! Anyway, I'm looking for some good closed headphones and I was...

Someone help me please, grado flats.

Hi vvanjij, Sorry to seem like a stalker but I'm the guy you've just bought your RS1's off! This is my first post here. I can't help you with your 'flat pads' I'm afraid (primarily as I have no idea what they are!) But, while we're talking about pads I have noticed from poking around this...
